Credit to Otamendi, except for the yellow card played very well.

The leadership of Stones is playing a major role but Otamendi has been consistent which was his biggest problem. Hopefully he can maintain this level.

I don’t think his pass to De Bruyne which broke the lines is getting enough credit. I think Pep raved about him doing that after the derby against the rags last season so think Pep will be delighted with him. Needs to cut out the brain farts like he had with that tackle at the end but I think he has been in the main very solid for us this season

I think he was right to make that tackle, got it wrong and got his yellow but better than allowing Willian to flick it by him as he would've likely been done given Willian's pace.

Great performance from him all told and I even noticed some outstanding reading of play from him which is normally not his forte.

He so often dived in and was left sprawling with neither man nor ball connected. He's now exhibiting a lot more control and thought, which is why, I think, he has developed a lot more consistency. PabZab used to do the same thing when he first came. There'd be a string of free kicks just outside the box, but he removed those lapses from his game and I think Otters is doing the same.

More about having a world class keeper behind them and also the continued improvement of John Stones who is growing into a future captain. Although as we all know the fullbacks on both sides have been really poor for two seasons and should have been upgraded sooner.
