Nicolas Otamendi

Letting him go without having a centerback incoming wrapped up is malpractice in my opinion. We're really going to let Vinny and Otamendi leave while Leicester are demanding silly money for Harry Maguire and no other known targets?
We aren’t, just because you don't know our targets doesn't mean there aren't any. Malpractice, yeah right.

I’m sure City will have a long list of potential targets and will have a strategy to replace Vinny.

Obviously the club has other targets, god. The point is we should sign one before we let a second go, if only so we don't lose negotiating leverage.

Murilo is about a year older than Douglas Luiz and has about the same level of international pedigree (no full caps), so would simply paying a large transfer fee somehow qualify him for a work permit?

He may not be ready but was not Sandler bought as Ottamendi`s replacement? I seem to remember he played on the left for his previous club, and i think City will run with 3 top quality CB`s the 3rd being Kompany`s replacement

I had been under the impression that he was a CFG signing, but he was with the first team this year so who knows. Would be surprised if he was though.

Otamendi just isn't as reliable anymore. Can't depend on him and Stones for a full season as our options alongside Laporte.

What makes you say that?

I don't dislike him but he's very mistake prone and rash at times. We definitely cannot depend on him and Stones alone for a whole season. It's okay in the league but these players get exposed quite badly in Europe.

Although if he does obviously stay and gives his all. Obviously nothing to complain then. Just don't feel as confident with him as of now.

Pick out one bad performance from Nico last season.

Nico was rash under Pellegrini but Pep coached it out of him very quickly. He’d probably be the best backup centre back around if we keep him - much rather him than Maguire

He barely played last season. And if I had to pick a game it would be the CL one.
This is like saying pick out one bad performance from Danilo. The whole point is to improve upon players that can give more competition and help the squad out even more. If you're telling me he isn't defensively vulnerable then idk.

I'd much rather neither but Pep knows better than all of us so if he keeps Otamendi then whats to say. His trust and confidence in players is more important than my or anyone's opinion.

It helps the squad to keep his experience now vinny has gone,it doesn't help to have another defender take a couple of seasons to learn and settle
