Nigel De Jong is more important to us that Yaya Toure. There I said it

NDJ probably shades it defensively. In all other areas of the game (passing, dynamism, vision, scoring goals and generally scaring the shit out of the opposition) Yaya is far superior.

Mark is that you?

NDJ isn't in the team to score the goals, provide 70 yard runs and then an assist on the end of it. He's there to simply break up the play and pass the ball on 10 or 15 yards.

I'm not slating Yaya, I'm just saying in my opinion, when NDJ isn't in the team then we miss him massively

In certain games, which is the key. As much as I love the warrior that is big Nige he has to realise that not all games are best suited to his talents. Having said that Im sure he's professional enough to realise this. He may feel frustrated at times which is to be expected...its good to see that he desperately wants to play for us.

OS making up for bad press about de Jong -
Nigel de Jong started on the bench as Holland took on Germany in Hamburg, but appeared on 64 minutes - by which time the Dutch were already 3-0 down - at least the City enforcer helped steady the ship with the score remaining the same
sadly Nigel actually came on at 2-0 and missed his tackle to let the Krauts in for their third!

NDJ missing a tackle but according to people on BM he has never missed a tackle ever

That's all well and good, but are we signing van Persie? :)

No interest. More chance of us signing Van Morrison.

Too old, too expensive, too injury-prone.

Not even something we've entertained and wouldn't, unless he was handed to us in January on a silver platter.

Let's be clear, Van Persie has more left on his contract than Nasri, who cost us £22m big ones and coupled with his wages...

Mancini wants young fresh meat and although speculation, the Martinez interest is there.

The interest is there according to Ballague sources or your sources ?
Ballague said we just had in inquiry about him, do you know anything more ?

Missed more than he's made of late. Hoepfully it's just rustyness

More than ever we need to sort this contract situation with De Jong, and have that cover for the back four back!!......

Oh - yes, de Jong might have missed a tackle - but they probably all did. Müller, Klose and Özil were just terrific yesterday - and Khedira in the middle did a real great job, too. Even if the Netherlands fouled yesterday - they kept themselves back a little - no broken legs...
