Was looking at the stats of the west brom game and it confirmed what i thought myself.. this guy is a top class breaking midfielder.

He wins it back and lays it off.. his job. Love him.

40 passes reached the target out of 41 attempts. He won 6 tackles out of 7 made three interceptions and two blocks.

Looking back at our most recent games he's been astonishingly consistent and leads on passes and tackles every week.

He will be very very important to our cause next season

He does his job excellently and doesn't give it away.

Will be one of the first on the teamsheet next season.

I agree, he is a top draw midfielder, these first few months he joined is only a learning curve in premier league football, next season is when we will see De Jong at his best.

different type of player. I really think we could do with moving Vinny to centre back. He loses possesion a bit too much for my liking in midfield

yeah i agree but both lads are in essence holding midfielders and i know who i prefer

Considering he didn't play much in the first half of the season for Hamburg and is now in the more demanding Premiership then he's done really well. Expect to see a lot more from him next season.

yeah you don,t get into the dutch midfield being average just think hughes needs to find away for him and vinnie to play in the same area we don,t need the 2 holders at home and in only a handful of away games think you would see a even better de jong playing alongside another midfielder with a creative spark and more of an engine and in a midfield 4
