selling NDJ for £5.5m and buying a repacement for £30m more!!!- does that make sense and more the point, are they that much better!!??.....

Nor does letting him walk for a free in January and we would st have to find a replacement and that replacement is still likely to cost big bucks

Do we let all our players fuck off on afree of corse not

Potentially the nghmare scenari is Silva next year if he reuses to sign a new contract

DJ (sadly) must be sold this season unless he sign s up again and we must get a replacement - we aint
a charity[/quote

this is a bit revolutionary but why not negotiate a new contract with NDJ......

I think Bobby doesn't want him to stay in the long term but I can't see us letting him go just yet, without a replacement.

We tried, he declined the offer, so he has to be sold. Assuming a replacement is already lined up but with City you never know.

Because he wont sign the fucking thing

In simple terms, NDJ is the only genuine ball-winner (ie. tackler) in our squad. If we lose him then we lose possession of the football.
Garcia or DDR can do the exact same thing but then get the ball and ping it across the pitch or charge upfield with it.
De Jong has a very limited skill set. However this set of skills puts him as one of the best true defensive midfielders in the world.

Mancini likes his players to be adaptable and able to interchange positions. NDJ won't offer this.

I really wish he could stay but if he won't sign a contract which is apparently would have made him the highest paid DM in the world then we can't do anything.

i,m not having it that he won,t re-sign; just a bit more than offered- NEGOTIATE and get it sorted.......

Need a level above De Jong now - a player who can pass and tackle. Not many about granted - someone like obviously a De Rossi or Alonso - but I would presume we have someone lined up if he is on his way

It is time for us and NDJ to move on. Our officals are not budging with the contract offer and Nige isn't prepared to sign our deal so a sale is for the best for all parties. Goodbye and Goodluck.

We have 2 days and lets see who we bring in.

i understand that de jong doesnt want to sign a contract or so we are to believe. but with mancini willing to let him go... anyone think this a change of tact by him as de jong/barry are the only true holding players with rodwell he drives forward or did with everton scored afew. the other midfielders we have can do that job but non really like de jong a brick in front of back 4. .......saying that will have to wait untill end of the window cause personnaly think he is awesome like to have that strong/brickshithouse type player in the team.

would of thought we would have a replacement.

(hopefully u understand wat i mean).

nobody

No need to replace him, City already have ( Barry,Milner, Rodwel and Razak) who can cover his position.

None of those have the tenacity, agression or defensive ability NDJ does though and that's speaking as someone who really rates Barry and Rodwell. Who's going to harry the opponents, snap into tackles and protect the back line? Possibly no-one in the world better at it than De Jong, definitely no-one who is available.
