Nightclubs

Can't remember the name of the place and this would probably be shortly before the Hacienda closed its doors but there was a place that appeared to be a converted ballroom. It was somewhere in Manchester IIRC. At nights end they played the theme to "The dambusters" and everyone ran around the edge of the dance floor then had a massive pile on.
Anyone know what the bejasus I am on about?
Discoteque Royale?

It was. Bouncy, sticky floor. Started off playing metal and hardcore/punk then segued into hip hop and dance music later on
Had an upper gallery overlooking the dance floor. Only went once.
Went to Stringfellows in London a fair bit but that's largely as my best pal at the time had a friend who was some sort of Saudi Prince who held court. I never paid for a drink and always stottered out of there. I look back and shudder.
Nightclubs in Edinburgh are way better imo. Less in the way of dress codes and more in the way of having a good time.

The Thunderdome
Konspiracy
Wiggly Worm/Millionaires
Sound Garden
One in chinatown called something like Shenza's
Brahm's & List

Romeo & Juliets/Froggies/Butterflies (Oldham)
Cabaret (Oldham)

Phillips park hall in Whitefield, Farmers Arms (Bennies) in Bury and Angels in Burnley. Was it called Cranberry Fair near Blackburn? It had a crocodile if I remember correctly.

The new version of The Venue near Deansgate was alright a while back. Old music on a Friday night. I didn’t feel like a perv either at 38.

In Urmston we used to have a club called Corkers, all the tables had a phone so you could call another table and chat the birds up. I guess a primitive dating app !!

Legends in Manchester (now 5th ave i think) was always a good one, The Boardwalk was my favourite of all time
