Nir Biton

Fouth Offical on twitter said before that we are going to sign him for £1.8m. He doesnt get many wrong either so i think its nailed on as long as his national service doesnt get in the way.

His technique is really impressive for such a big lad, he reminds me of Yaya a lot but obviously is doing it on a far inferior level (that he looks far too good for). Noticed in that video he played in the U21 game against England with Assulin, can't remember him exactly but it looks like he started the counterattack for their goal.

Hi there!
I'm Alex, FC Ashdod and Man City fan...
Just wanted to share you with some details about Nir biton
First of all i saw that many of you were uncertain about the level of the israeli league... well, it's about in the same level as the league in belgium (i bet you heard about Hapoel Tel Aviv and Maccabi Haifa from the champions league) except that the israeli players are known for their echnical skills... eyal berkovic, benayoun, assulin.

About nir biton, he is a very tall (1.95) player with some nice technical skills (great first touch), clean shot and a great pace. i think comparing him to yaya will be unfair since he isn't in the same measures as yaya. he's quite skinny, looking more like peter crouch... he is the captain of the u21 israeli team with 3 caps at the national squad (one of them as a central defender).
I think that currently he can play for every mid-table team in the premier league but in order to be good enough for the citizens he must improve his heading skills and aggressivness, but he is young (turned 20 two months ago) improving day by day.

He played with Ashdod senior team since he was 17 in the starting lineup of every match. This year, Ashdod might be running for their first historic champioship, currently placed at 2nd with one of the lowest budgets in the league and a squad full of local youngsters with nir biton being the dominant one. Currently losing him might be devastating for my team but i hope we will recover...

Cheers for the info, Alexis.

What headline would the papers come up with?

Man City, ruining the Israeli army since 2012

Do post more often, please!!

Looks good, seems to have a good eye for a pass and driving forward like a box-to-box midfielder. Of course it's against lower grade opposition than the PL but that clip from his agent is a good demo (anyone remember Samaras youtube though :p).

I can see why City might be interested if the fee is really only £1.2m and obviously they think a fair bit of him having had him on trial and are proceeding. Worst case, looking at that demo, is we'd get our money back selling him to a lower PL or Championship club if he doesn't make the grade at City

Thanks for the info mate

Looks like he's got the talent but it's a bit of a worry as to whether he can do it in the prem if he lacks aggressiveness

Apparently he's been banging in lots of goals in training against our first teamers during his trial period.

But that's training...
