Kurt was absolutely fantastic.

Smells like teen spirit on TOTP's was just magnificant and probably groundbreaking , a bit like when i heard Daisy Chainsaw on breakfast bbc radio 1.
I remember it differently.

Ah, so you saw it as sold out? Rather than a middle finger to the masses?

I'm no Nirvana fan tbh, but they were fucking good, in fact fucking exceptional.

They were OK but there was so many better bands doing similar work.

Sadly, some people can only see what's 'cool' in the charts.

I really don't get the music snobs on here.

Nirvana were special. They were famous for a reason, and that was because they were sodding excellent.

I know what you mean, they were victims of their own success and the suicide just made it the perfect rock n roll dream. Who were you into at the time BT? I did enjoy the grunge/Seattle scene for a brief time, but there was plenty of stuff over here just as good.

My cousin brought round a copy of Pearl Jam's Ten which I really enjoyed. Although, I now see them more as a classic rock band.

Because of them I started listening to Alice in Chains, the amazing Soundgarden and the Stone Temple Pilots heavily.

Just the tip of the iceberg but there are so many other great bands like Mudhoney, Mother Love Bone, Green River, The Melvins and so on.

As you mentioned The Smashing Pumpkins, they are one of them bands I find really hard to love. I like them but there's just something missing.

Fair play, some quality bands there bud, The Smashing Pumkns probably suffered simillar to Nirvana, being in an episode of The Simpsons probably didn't help lol. Were you into the 'shoe gazing' scene over here?.... My Bloody Valentine, Ride and my personal faves Swervedriver?

Not really.

I have a lot of love for Hip Hop (old skool) and other stuff. I find I go through periods where I go off a genre but come back to it later just to keep it fresh.

At least my dream of seeing Soundgarden live is on again. Might need to travel though!
