No More Champions League For Me

I afraid it's domestic football only for me from now on. I've been increasingly disillusioned with the so called Champions League for some time and my decision is not just a reaction to last night. I will save my money for our Wembley trips from now on.
reasons :-
1. Bent referees
2. Blatantly rigged draws designed to ensure half a dozen big clubs progress

3. Rip off ticket prices
4. FFPR designed to protect half a dozen big clubs
5. No alcohol in grounds.
6. UEFA effectively condoning racist chanting
7. UEFA insisting no domestic games are played on CL nights
8. Season ticket holders being forced out of their seats for press seats and bigger advertising boards
9. Meaningless group games with nothing at stake
10. Obvious bias by high ranking UEFA officials (eg Platini) towards certain clubs and against English clubs in particular City
11. Heavy handed and often thug like policing abroad
12. The Etihad filled with tourists on Champions League nights

I will have all your tickets then thanks, everyone has an opinion and you are no different but most of the points on your list are incorrect at best.
Which are incorrect?....they all look sound to me

I've never been much of a fan of the competition, as it's fundamentally far more about money than an actual competition. The media ramming it down everyones throats is pretty tedious as well. I much prefered the old European Cup, where you had to actually earn a place in it and there was none of the group stage and seeding bollocks, it was a pure footballing competition, but obviously that didn't make as much money or guarantee the same teams always get in it, so it'll never return

I love the champions league, the away trips, big nights like last night at the Etihad.

Couldn't imagine the season now without it

Not sure what some people actually want,

My money is on post traumatic stress disorder counselling for some of the more hysterical flappers.
'We lost to possibly the best club side in the world so let's fuck Europe off and play in the Unibond League where the pies are cheaper'.
It's funny as fuck, albeit unintentional humour.

Not sure what some people actually want, it's like reading David Conn or Colin Schindler on here

haha yeah very Conn-esque on here today

Last night was the first time it felt like a big European night since the hamburg game. It did go quiet at times but there were also moments where the atmosphere was brilliant. The one thing that confuses me is the insistence on the bug advertising boards that mean from where I sit (the south stand) you cannot see the goal line.

Totally agree with the OP

Now the novelty value has worn off we're left with what it basically is - a corporate love in

I sat in my usual seat in 204 last night and was surrounded by cunts taking fucking selfies all night.

It encompasses all that's bad about modern day football

ahh actual league champions playing each other in knock-out format......and the same with cup winners....

bit too exclusive that

I much prefer a team that has won nowt being able to become 'champions of europe' and better still in the europa 'champions of clubs that were nearer the middle of the table'..... what a fantastic competition that is

and the Inter Toto.......Manuel loves that one ;=)
