I never said that City shouldn't be in the CL or be trying to win it as we obviously need the revenue and the top players will only sign for us if we're in it.
What I did say is that (in it's present format) it's not for me so I wont be going to any games - I will still keep my season ticket and watch the odd cup game.

It's not always as bad as last night though. Last night was definitely one end of the spectrum.
There are too many matches in this competition, too many entrants, and we know why. Oh, and the major sponsor? Your "product" is shite. Just like Budweiser and the "have a coke and a smile" unreality of much of modern football. Thought we could have done better. Expect us to get through though, driven by necessity, if we are actually allowed to play football.

I find myself wanting to win the league more than the champs league. I know there is more money and prestige winning the CL but for me winning the league is far more of an achievement. Chelsea showed how much luck plays in winning the CL with ref decisions etc. But the league is a long hard slog where truly the best team wins and puts managers and their squads to the test.
I know the players all want to be in the CL but to be honest I would be more than happy just going for the domestic titles.

If they were to rig the draw so that the big clubs would get through, I highly doubt they'd deliberately draw Barca against us and risk losing the cash cow at the last 16 stage.
