how do you think the rags would have done if the draw wasn't fixed? how would they get out of the groups we have had in order to progress in the first place? what about abandoning the FA cup for a season to lessen games to be played? and of course flukey wins like terry slipping in a pen shootout.
if we do it it'll be done the right way and will be sweeter for it.

It's pretty sad that people on here find it easier to accept conspiracy theories like fixed draws etc, than other people's simple opinions. Exactly why I hardly post on here and why I won't be bothering again. Sorry but this forum is becoming a fucking joke. I am not a rag, I have supported City since I was 4 (40 years).
Especially when the season United won the CL in 1999, they had both Barça and München in the group stage.

That blokes obsession with the conspiracy is staring to damage the credibility of his posts, for me.

Come back and post pal. This place is just full off masochists and WUMs, but there are still some good discussions to be had sometimes.

Lol

Why? I thought this was an open forum? Aren't forums designed to allow a gathering of opinions?

You've been on here three months and made 15 posts. Who gives a fuck?

Count me on the list please.

Always always alway always Premier League and FA Cup for me.

Am going to use the money I save and use it on League Cup tickets.

Mate of mine has decided to knock it on the head next season.

ATM I'm tempted myself.

I believe corruption in the game exists.
I believe it's present in the CL.
I believe City and many other clubs MAY have been subjected to it at some point.

I don't believe it's the reason for our failings.
I don't believe there's a specific conspiracy against City
I don't believe it's so rife that 'the draw' is out to get us, and every ref in every game and every sanction is all about us.

The way we're playing, we're hardly a threat to the big boys. In fact, if there was corruption, it might be to help us!

I'm out of CL next year because I've get to have a single good experience with it.

- I wanted to see the world's best teams.
've done that. I wasn't that impressed. Only Dortmund truly left me thinking 'wow'.

- I wanted to experience European nights and electric atmosphere.
It's been worse that most PL games, and I'm invariably surrounded by countless tourists who are damping the atmosphere considerably.

- I wanted to see City taking on some of the best - even if they lost, that's no problem.
They've yet to manage any inspiring performance at home. They've done really well against Bayern and Real away, but that's it.

It's great that some clubs can get a real kick from European nights. Good luck to them and their fans. I don't begrudge them it if they can create something special out of CL.
It's not working for me though.

Agree with every word. Hate to say it as a fan but the UCL also leaves me cold. The whole experience is just overrated. I actually enjoyed the few times we were in the Europa league more than this (that game v Sporting Lisbon when Joe Hart almost scored). The only thing I'll miss are the loyalty points!

it is not in the same league as the Premier League

personally I wouldn't care if we didn't play in it as long as we still competed to win the domestic league trophy

that's not a reaction to tonight as I have always said the same and felt the same way

to me it's pretty much on a par with the FA Cup

of course I like to win the FA Cup and I'd like us to win the Champions League one day too................but not at the expense of consolidating our place at the top of the premier league for years to come.....

one step at a time

I think most people obviously wanna see us going to CL finals against Barcelona and what knot and cherish the thought. But you can't blame them for not wanting too follow it and take interest in it as much as the Premiership as for most blues, that's mainly what we've been used too over the last decade or so and beyond.

I think corruption with UEFA very much so exists & this annoys many of us and I think it shows with choosing not too punish cska fans but punish us as a recent example. I think it goes deeper than this though...psychologically, the players seem too bottle in the champions league and we never seem too go that extra mile against the big team or even the lesser teams with more confidence and experience in the CL than us. They're superior quality (generally) seems them through ahead of us.

I think we WILL make it in the champions league but just not at the moment imo. We need too raise the confidence in our current players as they re all capable, and maybe bring some fresh life in squad and acknowledge of the academy lads more and give them the experience. For me it's just a matter of doing that & it could only take 2-3 seasons or so if we do it right! I think we should just appreciate how far we've come from say 6 years ago and back them 100% every game.

Had my fill of European nights, refereeing is shite, city are shite, there's not even any overpriced shite beer to be had. So next year fuck the extra loyalty points I'm out of the Chumps league cup scheme and doing a couple of extra aways with the money

Unfortunately, the top players think differently.

They want to play in the champions league, and we wouldn't be where we are today, defending champions, without that carrot that attracts them.

I agree wholeheartedly with your sentiment, as the Premier league and FA Cup will always mean more to me than any European competition, but we need to be competing in the champions league so we can sign the players that give us the chance of winning the Premier League.

Yeah, it's a load of tosh, but we are stuck with it.
