No More Champions League For Me

not done a chumps league game since madrid away last year mostly down to money ( 2 adults 2 kids get expensive )but have to agree with most its not enjoyable to watch i much prefure us to win all at home first the take a crack at chumps, i must say though as a supporter of City for over 40 years i dont like being priced out of games, watching on tv i feel like a traitor not being there to cheer the lads on.

I'm actually staggered by some of the posts on here.
Years in the wilderness seeing the rags playing Champions League football whilst we were languishing in the second division and shit - now we have taken their place and folk are moaning about it.
It's unbelievable.
I'm not keen on the pricing and corporatisation in European football, but that goes hand in hand with watching the best in the world.
If I wanted to see the Bolshoi ballet or the Rolling Stones, that would cost me even more.
Folk need to get a grip here.

Haha very true. A period of adjustment still required I think ;-)

Had we won last night this thread would have less people agreeing with the OP....some of the points are clearly nonsense.

So were all thick idiots who need adjusting so that we don't react like sheep to every defeat? I love competing with the best in the world but when our club is effectively commandeered for the evening and put through a corporate gentrification process where real fans are treated like children or some sort of underclass it does leave a bad feeling. You shouldn't be staggered that not everybody wants to swallow.

What's funny is people will complain about the product time and time again, from atmosphere to ticket prices yet go to the next match expecting some kind of change??

I know what to expect having been to CL matches at City, which is why I wasn't there last night as for me it is not worth £50
£50 added to my beer money for the league cup final.

Overpriced shit. Enjoy :)

I agree with a lot of the points and I do enjoy the league a lot more however, I really enjoyed last nights match despite us losing. Both sides are full of absolute quality and the respect shown by the players towards each other was something you probably won't witness against stoke this Saturday.

Last seasons campaign was a write off with only Madrid away giving me any kind of buzz whatsoever. However, Napoli home & away were quality matches so too was bayern away both times (different games but both enjoyable). I liked Moscow away but the football match itself didn't grab me like a premier league game would.

Personally I try to just ignore the corporate wank fest it is and just enjoy following city to some of the top stadiums over Europe and seeing top teams visit us.

was sat on row c last night which is the cl front row .with the advertising boards pushed closer to the pitch the kids couldnt see any of the penalty area .and then a wall of photographers .worst view ever had at a football match .totaly shit for £120

We had one of their coaches and three of their players standing in front of us for at least 20 minutes, took no notice of us shouting at them to move. The steward told the supervisor who told the 4th official. Fourth official went over to him twice and then one of their other bench people brought the guy a bib which he tried to put on and ended up doing a Ballotelli, we gave an ironic cheer when he managed to get it on. He still stood there, just watching the game, not telling his players what to do or anything, so the stewards told the 4th official again and he sent someone else over and he went and sat down after a long discussion that looked like an argument with the other guy!! But their subs were just standing watching the game and once in a while did a little walk along and back to their original position!! Flaming liberty takers.

If this thread was on Red Cafe we'd be pissing ourselves at the melodrama.

Embarrassing.

Only saw it on TV last night but the atmosphere sounded better than a lot of the game I've been to. Still if enough don't like it , more chance of me getting a ticket next time,so not all bad.
