I think you are wrong, in the end, with luck they will give up and form some kind of other league with the likes of the Irish/Norway/Denmark/Sweden all of whom have nothing to lose by giving it a short.

I have an idea I hope hasn't already been suggested. The League cup is a bit of a damp squib so why not make it an Anglo/Scottish cup with all the Scottish and English teams in it. That would be great to get Stenhousemuir in the next round. Adds a bit of English/Scottish spice and way better than City Vs Grimsby Town. It may even usurp the FA cup!
