No they SHOULDN'T.
I think they should.

We bought our tickets a day before the reduction, and we weren't even allowed in our own seats.

I'm obviously still going to go but I'm really pissed off at this.

My mum was happy with the price she'd paid, but she'd rather have paid £10 for us both instead of £40.

Not happy.

get over it man.

All these similes don't apply to football, it is more like someone doing the exact same job at the same company being paid 4 times as much.

When Birmingham City changed the prices last year they refunded those who bought early the difference of £8 (including our fans).

Football ticket pricing used to be transparent with no last minute sales gimics, and is at most clubs. This isn't retail.

Think so and the small one, depending on no storm in the next ten minutes.

That's what happens, when a guy has been there 30 years and they hire a newbie to do the same job, he never gets paid the same when walking in the door.

And that's why Birmingham are where they are !

Re : Transparent; 1) Perhaps that's the problem, ask Portsmouth if they wish they had sold tickets cheap when seats went unsold ? 2) For decades clubs have GIVEN AWAY tickets to create fans/followers in the community, and they probably sat next to you & your season ticket.

That does happen in shit companies, others it doesn't and they have wage structures.

Giving them to kids on local kids on a rotar basis is different from some millionaire from cheshire being able to to get a subsidised ticket on open sale whilst others pay full.

obviously in future im not going to be mad enough to pay full price in advance.i will wait till a few days before just incase they reduce.
it wont sell out unless the prices are reduced anyway cos all europa games are on telly.so if i pay £25 it wont be until he week of the game.
if they do sell out i can watch on tv and put the money towards another game. perhaps the FA cup, but of course wil be clever and wait until a few days before so i dont get stung if they reduce the prices.

Fair enough. If the price of the ticket is that important to you and you need to make sure that you get it cheapest, then the above sounds like a good plan for you.

-- Wed Dec 01, 2010 7:21 pm --

You need bovril on a cold night. Burns the crap out of your mouth but keeps the hands warm.

Not sure what I paid for my ticket. I am a SC holder (I have 2 so I can take a mate/gf/dad etc) and part of the cup scheme and both get debited from my account at random times). I am guessing I was part of the 3 for 2 offer.

I couldn't attend the Juve game so gave both my tickets to mates that can't normally afford to go for £16 quid each.
will you be fucked off if you find out that through joining the cup scheme you have paid £30 for juve £20 for poznan and £20 for salzburg?.......kind of my point to the refunding of tickets really....it wouldn't be right for your loyalty for committing to the cup scheme to end up costing you £20 more than somebody that didn't but then took up the 3 for 2 £50 deal........just as it isn't right that someone pay £20 then a day later the ticket price is £5. people comparing it to items bought in a shop then going on sale are trying to compare apples with oranges.....a football club is different to a shop, there is no emotional attachment to a shop like there is with a football club....say a member of your family had 2 phones and sold you 1 for £20 then the next day you found out that family member had sold the other phone he had to a complete stranger for £5....you lot that agree with the what the club have done saying you wouldn't be fuckin fuming with that family member and feel let down?.........right that's my view and i'm off now to get diggin the car out c'mon you blues.

I understand your point mate, even if I don't agree with it.

I sign up to the cup scheme for the loyalty points and to ensure I am there for the games, all games. I am also aware I may miss some of the specials on games but that is more than made up for by the peace of mind I get from knowing I'll not have to miss one game. It also saves me from having purchase tickets singularly.

OK, so you only object to the fact that someone who is wealthier than you has access to a cheap ticket. Perhaps that's better for the club, as if he likes what he sees, he may be up for hospitality or a box ?

It happens at all companies mate, not just shit ones. It is why companies often want people to retire at 65 (even if they can still do and wanto to; do the job), as a new person doing the same job will be cheaper.

I hope I sit next to the £5 Millionaire, he may drop a £20 from his bulging money belt.

Ps - Football has changed now. There are gimmicks and it is very much retail. We also get a far better time off our owners than most.
