Police have congratulated fans for their good behaviour after the FA Cup semi-final.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police in London arrested just 34 people after City’s win over United at Wembley. They say most of the arrests were for public order offences and ticket-touting. A spokesperson for the Met said: “Given the capacity of 80,000 at Wembley, just 34 people were arrested. “Despite the build-up, the event was remarkably low-key.”
Greater Manchester Police also said there were no major incidents connected to the Manchester derby. Officers from British Transport Police were stationed at the main transport hubs across the country, but claimed the day went off ‘without a hitch’.
