No Yaya in the team...

A truly magnificent,unique player.

No one else in world football has been able to do what Yaya has done from his position.

If he wants to he can stay at CITY & be used strategically for his benefit, the benefit of the team & the benefit of the club.

When the time comes for this true modern era legend to retire he should be our African Ambassador to help attract the next Nacho

A BM campaign should be started to re build & cement Yaya's legend status not destroy it.

Think of this clubs greatest moments in our recent history and there stands the great YAYA TOURE at the centre of it all !!

We are blessed to have him.

What do you guys think ?

I don't think anybody disputes what Toure has done for our beloved club, however done and doing are two very different things, I do believe he could be an ambassador for the club, however one thing is blatantly obvious he needs to get ride of his self righteous, over zealous agent, there lies one of his problems. The other is there are younger and better players that are able to step up to the plate, but what better than to have Toure teaching them what they all admired as they grew up. He isn't the player he used to be and that is a fact, I even think he recognised it the other day against Everton for the first time, his playing days are far from over.... but at city, this will be his last season as a regular starter!!

I'm not a big stats man, it I'd like to see the correlation between our Goals Conceeded and Ya Ya's inclusion as a holding midfielder. Because off the top of my head, when we play with Delph and Fernandinho we have been very solid.

The first five league games we'd have beaten Barcelona if we played them, we were unstoppable, but then what happened...reality

And yaya wasn't a part of the reason why we would have?

I'm just saying its easy to quote stats saying we are better without him and then ignore stats that showed we have Ben equally as good with him!

De bruyne didn't play the first five games and was missing yesterday and against Norwich. Does that mean we are better without him too?

Stats have their place. They are performance indicators and like any peformance indicators, some are key; some less so but you always need to try and take a balanced view of such things.

Playing three in midfield, sitting back and not allowing your opponents into your box and then breaking on them can be successful and wa yesterday but it is not the only way to play, it's certainly not the only way to play, and it can be played with or without Yaya in the team but it does not mean it is time for Yaya to suddenly become a bit part player. Not one of the squad has proved that they can be the hub of our passing game in the way that Yaya is and that remains a problem, given that we are, and may increasingly be, a possession based team.
