proof that torres is staying at liverpool.....click the link in the comment if anyone can see anything other than a load of pictures of the spanish players, i'll be greatful to know what.

lmao, the only thing it proves is spain did indeed win the World Cup

Torres was rumoured to have the runs. So naturally he had to have some sort of protection if the shits hit. A scarf is perfect :)

Who gets to kick Noel in the nads if all this turns out to be rubbish ?

Best part of that interview was this quote
"Although all these great players are written down and they are all coming and all this I think the key personnel in the club is the manager."

Very interesting, KY and tissues on order..
"Torres and gerrard are you looking forward to them at man city?" "I don't think they would even get in the team after seeing that napkin!" amazing news!...Scary.

Oasis legend Noel Gallagher blown away by City transfer plans
Stuart Brennan

July 13, 2010

Former Oasis star Noel Gallagher claims to have been given as glimpse of Manchester City plans which will rock the world of football.

The Blues fan says he was let in on the club’s ‘mind-blowing’ transfer strategy by chief executive Garry Cook over lunch.

And while he appeared to rule out moves for Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, Gallagher hesitated when asked about City’s designs on Fernando Torres during a radio interview.

The rocker claimed that Cook had written the names of City’s intended 24-man squad for next season on a napkin.

He said, ahead of Sunday’s World Cup final in Johannesburg, which he attended: “I just had a big, long lunch with Garry Cook and the revelations you lot are going to hear in the next month are going to blow your mind – but I can’t say anything.

“Players coming and going, and where they are going to and where they are coming from.”

Pressed on names, Gallagher replied in the negative to Barcelona superstar Messi and to Real Madrid’s £80million man Ronaldo.

But when asked about Torres, for whom City appear to be fighting a losing battle, he refused to rule anything out.

“Garry was writing out these names on a napkin, about who was going to be in the squad.

“Put it down on paper, and the 24-man squad we will have will be looking to win everything next season.

“That’s not being big-headed and saying we are going to win everything, but we have to go into it thinking ‘Who is better than us in the league?’

“Chelsea have more experience and United have more in Alex Ferguson, but other than that I am looking at the names there and being blown away, thinking that we are rightly third favourites to win the league.”

City seem to be lagging behind Chelsea in the chase for Torres, and face stiff competition from Juventus for striker Edin Dzeko.

But sources in Italy suggest Juve cannot afford to compete with the Blues, and that Dzeko will be meeting with City officials this week.

They also raise the prospect that City may sell Emmanuel Adebayor to the Turin outfit to help facilitate the Dzeko deal.

There is also growing talk of a similar deal with Chelsea, with the Blues giving up the chase for Torres and in return being offered either Nicolas Anelka or Didier Drogba

Im an Oasis fan and have been following Noel for a while (his interviews and talk show appearances), and I can safely say the man is full of it at times. He clearly has a massive ego and is a real-life troll, even more so than his brother. I wouldn't take anything he says as granted, he might just be messing about with two nosy talkshow hosts.

But anyway, heres my theory:

The big departures are Stephen Ireland and Micah Richards to Man Utd, possibly a swap deal for someone (no idea who we would want from them though, maybe Nani? I sure hope its not Berbaflop).

Other than that im sure we'll sign Kolarov & Dzeko, possibly make a move for that young portuguese left back, if Kolarov falls trough. His name slips my mind though, he put in a nice performance for portugal at the WC, plays for Benfica I believe. Obviously we are also keen on Torres and Gerrard, both of which I personally wouldn't want to see at City. Torres has just suffered yet another set-back, a groin injury that should effectively bench him for 2 months. Gerrard is a led-legged horse that will soon be put down. After his WC shananigans I doubt Mancini himself even wants him. From what i've been reading, Mr. Cook already made a visit to Barcelona, meeting with the president, so theres some options there. Im thinking Robi & Tevez to Barca for part exchange Ibra + some other player (possibly Iniesta?). Or dare I say.. Messi? I know thats just wishful thinking (maybe not all that wishful, cause he would cost us a butt load of cash and could potentially flop in the prem + we have good enough wingers in Adam J and Silva).

Another thing I was thinking about was Bellers' departure. Cardiff city anyone? Loan for like 30% of his wages whilst we get first rights to some of their youngsters (that welsh kid is pretty prospectful, I believe his name is Adam Matthews). Our academy could turn them into the next Gareth Bale's and Craig Bellamy's.

Also, the re-signing of Taylor made me think they had an offer for Hart (or Given, but thats a long shot). Birmingham not happy with the Man Utd reject, maybe? Can see a loan move to Blackpool aswell, those boys need reinforcments if they have any ambition to stick in the prem. Rachubka is a pretty dire choice for a first team goalie.

Anyway, thats my 2 cents, not a very informed opinion as we dont get many transfer news here in Slovenia, just what BBC feeds us over the internet and what we care to find ourselves on various websites.
