Noel Gallagher and City.

Think he's a loutish prick personally and I can't stand the fact that we seem incapable of going a full City season without him being involved in some PR campaign or other. You'll always see him at Wembley, in the away ends for some London games on free tickets, or in his box on the final day of the season, but never anywhere else.

I'll never forget in 2016 when they were going to unveil the new City badge on the big screens and after a 10-second countdown the screen transitioned to him talking about the badge before they showed it. That summed it all up for me. City's media team seemingly can't do anything without his involvement or say-so, it's very sad.

Their peak was 30 years ago now. The fact that it's still only Noel Gallagher who's considered as shorthand for a "propoh Manc, propoh Citeh" fan is a condemnation of the retrograde cultural ideology Oasis ushered in during their heyday. Manchester must never look forward, it must only pay homage to the past, over and over again.
Crap! ....utter crap!

Seen them both at Maine Road loads of times and although Liam is quite shy, always chatting to other fans

Me too, but I’ve always felt that Liam is the more genuine fan and better person.

Also, this tweet just before the Old Trafford derby in December 2017 from one of the most respected posters on this forum calls into question Noel’s credentials. I’m not on X anymore so having to post this word for word:

So it’s March 93, got a spare for City v Spurs, FA Cup quarter final. Ask lads in the pub in Longsight if they want to buy it for face. Lad wearing a Celtic top says “Fuck off, they’re shite.”
Same **** is on Graham Norton with a City flag and a pundit for Sky on Sunday. Fraud.

Clearly a bullshit story haha

Noel has always been a blue and plenty of people can vouch for him being there before he was famous.

Love some of the nonsense on here: "you never see him at all the games" - Like he works 9-5 with all weekend free. He's a touring musician that even missed the champions league final because of tour commitments.

Some absolute fuckin shite spouted on here, used to see Noel a lot hone and away in the 80's, our kid knew him quite well when he was a roadie for Inspiral Carpets, he's a proper blue
Noel gets a few mentions in little Bennys Book, so he was in or friendly with the Young Guvnors back in the day

While accepting his tour commitments surly he would have known tour engagements before the champions league final wherever city made it or not .

He could of prepared for any eventuality.

Maybe he seen pound Signs before his eyes.

This isn’t criticism of Noel I said elsewhere admire him for being a city fan

It doesn't really work like that when booking world tours. There's so many logistics involved that you can't book a world tour around a potential champions league game.

Of course he saw pound signs. It costs crazy amounts of money to release and promote albums and you have to recoup it by touring. So, he's not going to plan or scrap his American leg of a tour on the off chance that City make a final a year later.

That doesn't make him any less of a city fan haha.

I knocked about with Noel in my younger days and I can assure you at that time he was a City fan.
So did my elder cousin and he can confirm otherwise. I never said he wasn't a Blue entirely, I said he showed more affinity towards Celtic in his younger years as well as City.

If you read it on here it must be true, eh?

He’s the most high profile blue in the world and a great ambassador for the club around the world. What he did or didn’t do in 1993 or whether he flew back from Argentina in 2006 for the home game against Sunderland or not really doesn’t change anything.
