Noel Gallagher on Talksport

There's plenty of "successful" and "celebrity fans" who follow our club mind, but are not in dressing rooms after the games, acting like their a player[/QUOTE
Woah hang on a sec,I've spent a fucking fortune on City (like loads of others) over the past 30 odd years, and still doing to this day,so I don't get what your point is really
i don't dislike Noel Gallagher and I do find him amusing, however, I don't buy this "he's just an ordinary blue
" bollocks. Like lots of others, I've held a season ticket since 1957 and follow City home and away. I'm willing to bet I've spent a bigger percentage of my earnings watching City than Noel has, yet how many times have I been in the dressing rooms on match day or on the pitch at the end of a cup final ? Jeez, I'm even turned away from using the "posh" bogs at the Etihad because I'm not wearing a hospitality bracelet. I'm not bitter about it but don't try and tell me these celebs are ordinary blues !!!

They aren't ordinary - that's why they get invited to the places you don't. Had he not become a world renown star then I'm pretty sure he'd still be following City, going to the games and sitting in the cheap seats with the rest of us.

I recall him on a tv interview years ago being asked about buying the club and he replied as soon as things goes wrong he would have some scally around his house putting his windows in.

He does seem to know his football, especially City related.

Why the fuck should he have thrown money our way? I'd say that's pretty smart considering how badly we were run at the time.

Noel needn't have thrown any money in but he could have played a few tunes at the closing of Maine Road, the opening of the Etihad or the celebration of the Cup win over Sunderland!

No they're not, but then you didn't write Champagne Supernova.

He's not a caricature though. It's who he is. When the cameras are not around he's the same. He talks the same, acts the same. Has a laugh. You certainly wouldn't think he was a multi millionaire rock star when you're in his company - until the various phones are shoved in his face looking for a selfie every 5 minutes.
I understand why not everyone will take to him but to level any critiscm about his roots and where his heart lies is bollocks.

yep, sums him up that mate, he's a blue end of chat, all this crap about leaving Manchester as as soon as he could is just a load of crap.

One of the few celebrity blues who stands his ground about his club.

When you've written and achieved what he has, you deserve to do whatever you damn well like as long as it doesn't hurt others, and you certainly deserve some preferential treatment from the club you've stuck up for in a red media infested world.
As for where he lives - well, where should he live? The fake, detached, sterile compounds of Wilmslow, Alderley Edge and Bowdon? Where he lives in London is more real than those false places.
Would be nice if he played at a couple of City occasions, but that's from a selfish point of view.

Actually quite enjoy us having a 'go to' celebrity fan, makes a nice change from seeing James Nesbitt or Eamonn Holmes being paraded in front of the camera. Love him or hate him, Noel speaks well about our club, he's sharp, witty and well informed and put Carragher back in his box without so much as a pause for thought. The fact he's given access behind the scenes at the club clearly shows the players enjoy him being around, if he was a dickhead, they'd soon have him out.
