Did you even watch the video? If so, can you tell me where Noel gets 'arcy' (sic)? He simply stated he thought we might have problems filling an expanded stadium, and unless there is a notable drop in ticket prices planned (and I'm pretty certain there won't be, for reasons previously stated), it's not an unreasonable supposition based on the number of empties we see at many City games currently

Didn't he also say that the people in charge know what they're doing so will have something in mind to ensure it's full, or something along those lines.

It wasn't as if he was agreeing with camel gob or the ginger dwarf!!

Of course, there's a logic that says the £500.00 tickets / corporate are helping to subsidise the cost of regular tickets.
But there's also an argument that if nobody was buying the corporate tickets, it would drive down the cost of regular tickets, as the product isn't well sought after and there'd be no examples of premium prices. Depends at how you look at the market.
You're suggesting City want to make X million from matchday tickets, and if the money doesn't come from the corporates, it will have to come from us. I'd argue that if it's not coming from the corporates it won't be coming from us either!

Only thing I disagreed with was the comment that if the demand was there for the extra seats there'd be a queue of people trying to get in.

Apart from there being quite a large queue of people that have paid a deposit on a season ticket it shows a lack of understanding why there isnt a large queue of people unable to get in.

Couldnt care less how many games he goes to and how much he pays.

I can assure you that this has most definately been the case on numerous previous occasions, I can even confirm that it has happened for European aways (Not so sure it does anymore since Liam's antics at Real Madrid, which was on freebies from the club)

I understand your point mate. It's a bit of a chicken and egg situation. But as it stands the clubs have a wage bill to pay and someone has to pay it.

Aye, it's very chicken and egg, and as you say, TV (at the moment) is where the lion's share of revenue comes from for most clubs. But still, matchday revenue is a nice slice of the overall pie and an extra 5-10 million still makes a difference.
When it comes to bang for your buck (from the club's perspective), a box brings in far more money per sq ft than the seats do. In a way, it's us sitting fans that hold back the corporate expansion! ;-)

I seem to recall 30,000 Blues in the third division and local business people who made good that saved the Club.

I am an Oasis fan too but I am afraid they haven't sold that many records in the last 20 years, never mind City shirts!

As celebrity City fans go, I'd say he gives a fairly decent representation of the typical City fan... always a tad cautious of false dawns and impending cock-ups. I don't share all his views, I doubt anybody does, but he doesn't make people cringe with his comments, doesn't come across as a 'full of it' City fan, and still seems to be aware of who we actually played last week, and who is up next etc (that a lot of celeb fans clearly don't).

As for freeloading, it comes with the celebrity status. That's just how it is. All these celebs who sit with the 'normal fans' - they rarely struggle for tickets and don't like the real fan experience, regardless of where they sit. They aren't figuring out how which matches they can afford to attend, or if they can afford another season ticket. You can't blame him for his wealth and fame... and I'm damn sure he screams 'get in!' just the same way we do when Aguero scores.

Some celeb fans will be saying 'which one is Aguero? - he's my fave'.
