Noel Gallagher

I was there the same day. You're right about Cast No Shadow and Rob Collins, but pretty sure it was Champagne Supernova that Squire came on for.

It was an ace day mate. I was only 17. So many gigs and festivals have totally passed me by since. The Oasis gig at the Etihad, I can't remember a single thing about. Yet Knebworth has always stuck with me. At the time I was not thinking this is history or anything like that, as I was too young to appreciate the significance of it. But without a doubt it was one of the most enjoyable days of my life.

Same here, although I was only 16. With Euro 96 as well it really was a great summer. Funnily enough, I watched part of the Knebworth gig the other day on YouTube for the first time.

Top man Noel Gallagher. Great musician, and song writer. Both Noel & Liam used to walk to Maine Road when they lived in Burnage. They have always voiced their love for City throughout their music careers.

I seen bits of Knebworth on the Supersonic movie. No one had camera phones and social media did not exist then. For 20 years it has just been memories. Then to actually see footage of not just the gig, but of everything that went on around it, is quite mad.

Noel giving it Neville on sky after the derby was class. Imagine being able to do that after watching City dismantle the Rags?

Not wild about them and never have been but "Roll With It" is pure City. Only a City fan who'd been through everything could have written that. Still remember walking out of the ground singing along with that at the top of my voice the night we beat West Brom and the rags lost to Wigan. Hope was rekindled that night.
Oh and Noel slagged off Damon Albarn in the 90s, so he can't be all bad (although he sometimes sits in with his band now, so that's strange, isn't it?)

By the way, I've been wondering if I'm a big blue, a medium blue, or a teeny little blue. Is there some sort of weighing machine that can let me know objectively?

“It was the last great gathering of the people before the world changed, before the internet, before X Factor, before reality TV, it was special”

Noel is bringing stuff out as good as his best ever and is trying some new things n’all.

Liam’s album is pretty shit, lyrics are dead basic and immature. But I still like the guy.

I love how the pair of them wind people up. They were part of why it was so cool to be a Blue in the 90s, I think they’re great!

With you on that 100%.

Im as blue as they come, and I love music, and I love that Noel Gallagher is a blue and he plays music and promotes us and represents us. But if him, or his brother, and definitely the pair of them together were playing a concert at the end of my garden I would shut the blinds and curtains. Love them all, but they are rubbish musicians and their songs and music is mediocre at best. no wonder every crap cover band in every pub play Oasis songs, they are really like music for beginners and can be sung by the the most novice vocalists. Love that they are City fans though
It makes you wonder why there aren’t loads more bands selling out 125,000 venues doesn’t it?
