Not really sure on Bertrand, he is pretty good but is nearly 23 and doesn't look to me like he'll be good enough to just step in for Cole. Cole was a star for Arsenal and England already at the same age. I think it's telling that no PL sides have asked for Bertrand on loan yet, only lower league sides. Shaw is a really exciting player and I know we've been linked with him but we have a kid called Ashley Smith-Brown who is a year younger and getting great reviews by the youth coaches.
I may be wrong but I'm sure I saw Smith-Brown linked with Barca a while back?

Arsenal and Barcelona yeah but just signed first-year scholarship forms with us. One of about seven British lads kept on from last season's U16s as we're signing foreign to fill up the rest of that generation (Pozo, Lopes, Celina, Bossaerts, and a few of our latest recruits from Right to Dream in Ghana).

I may be completely mistaken, but didn't Bertrand start the Barca 2nd leg and/or the final, playing ahead of Cole, and in fact running the entire left side? Looked plenty capable to me.

Not my worry though...just for what it's worth, he looks decent enough to me. I'd take him as Clichy's back up...coughcoughKolacoughcough.

Bertrand did well in an ultra-defensive role team set up

It's another ball game when you play left back in a team that will attack and leave you exposed. And he's not good enough going forward to play left midfield / attack.

to be quite frank if Chelsea sign cavani, their squad is just ... wow up front I mean they just got Oscar, hazard looked good last night and if Torres ever gets it together they are going to be scary.. cavani is a proven scorer who would do wonders for them with mata and hazard on the pitch. just insane

But as it's been said, they've bought nothing but Attacking players this summer when their weak spot last season was defence. AVB played a high-line and Di Matteo told everyone to stay back, but unless they sign a solid Centre Back with a view to replacing Terry and a Right Back, they'll still be less than solid IMO.

Torres had a good goal return for club and country afer that goal against Barcelona so I honestly believe with the new creative force Chelsea now aquire he will be sorted next season.

Cavani??? Why do Chelsea need 2 center forwards. It seriously would be stupid for them to buy him. If Chelsea should buy anyone, Hulk should be the guy to add another goal threat.

Chelsea are looking to get ridiculous in their spending and whilst it may look all great on paper, as a team I honestly think they will struggle with ego issues etc.,

Almost a carbon copy of what everyone was saying about us. We won the league.

ESPN understands that Chelsea have had a
£17 million bid for Borussia Dortmund
striker Robert Lewandowski rejected.

Is roman holding his cheque book watching youtube and randomly bidding for anyone he likes? It will help if they have a proper manager at helm

Personally, I think they are looking fucking great!! Bring it on tho', I still take us as the best team in the Prem', but it's gonna be a good, tight season (on paper at least). If we bring someone new in, great, if we don't, I still think we have the best squad.

Former Manchester City striker Felipe Caicedo could be on his way to Barcelona to join Espanyol according to Spanish media reports.

Sports daily MARCA suggest the Ecuadorian striker, who played 27 times for City in a four year spell at Eastlands, is close to a switch to Espanyol after representatives from the La Liga side met officials of Lokomotiv Moscow last week.

The powerful forward has already enjoyed time in Spain when he spent loan spells at Malaga and Levante in 2010. The Valencian club then made the loan deal permanent in last summer after City boss Roberto Mancini advised the 23-year-old he didn’t feature in his long-term plans.

Caicdo was immediately sold to Lokomotiv however, as Levante looked to reduce their crippling debt, with the Caracas-born hit man going on to net eight goals in 19 games for the Russian Premier League outfit.

City spent £5.2 million to bring Caicedo to Manchester for Basel in 2008, however, after struggling to break into the first team at Eastlands he was sent on loan to Sporting Portugal before his spells at Malaga and Levante.

Espanyol boss Mauricio Pochettino is said to be a huge admirer of Caicedo, although it is believed there are currently complications over the asking price of a player that cost €8 million just 12 months ago.

Hmmm, Wages?

Yeah I know that, but aren't they flush with cash now with the 52mil they got from Ibra and T.Silva? And future savings on wages totaling 117mil over 2 years, according to Berlusconi?

imo, Bendtner is like a tier or two below Adebayor in terms of quality..

Milan may take the view that they are still good enough to get top 4 and the riches of the Champions League ie take the Arsenal approach
