Paul Scholes - because he's achieved a lot more than Gerard and he is the most down to earth person you could ever meet - I met him in Middleton MacDonalds about 15 years ago and he was a joy to meet - no airs and graces about him at all - in fact he was extremely shy - I wish he had played for us but que sera sera etc
Gerard is a sneak - mixed up with shady folks - Paul Scholes might be a dirty twat on the pitch but he's a gent off it.

Scholes is a better attacker, Gerrard has more to his game.
Gerrard has carried Liverpool for years. He has everything, fantastic range of passing, strength, aggression, good tackler, great shot, pace and decent in the air.
Scholes, I don't think has the qualities to carry a team. Scholes needs a good team around him to compliment him.

Even when Scholes was at his best he wasn't in the same class as Gerrard and right now Scholes has dropped back more than a couple of levels.

Gerrard could/can do it all Scholes has never been able to do that.
As good as Scholes used to be if there was one man who i would bet on to win my team the most important match of the season, it would be Gerrard.
