You should widen the debate and add fat Frank. Better than both in my opinion especially where England games that really matter are concerned.

Also, being the boss at work in charge of a load of scousers, nothing winds them up more than saying that Gerrard is over-rated in very much the same way as Cantona was.

Scholes

As much as i rate Gerrard, Scholes is on another planet.

One of the best and most underated players there has been. You cannot teach the vision, awareness and touch that he has and he is doing it all still at 34.

You look at some of the comments about Scholes from some of the worlds best ever players and they all tell you the same thing, he is one of the best.

Hate the rags with a passion but i will recognise a good player when i see one and Scholes is not your typical rag. He goes to training and goes home, never in the press, likes the quiet life and is a family man. He has my respect for that aswell as for his footballing abilty.

I hate the 2 of them, but I think Gerrard is the best midfielder in the world now.
