More or Less, the statistics based one from Radio 4 - essential for cutting through the crap and spin.

I quite like startalk with Neil de grasse tyson, easy to listen to and his co host is pretty funny.

I'll recommend Knowledge Fight.

The premise is pretty simple. There are two hosts, both comedians. One of them watches Alex Jones (extreme-right conspiracy nut) on Info Wars each week and then tells his fellow host about what he saw. They talk over the most ridiculous clips, break down Jones' mad theories, and generally examine how both conspiracies and conservative propaganda develop, all in a lighthearted and measured way.

They're close to 800 episodes at the minute, so it can be a bit of a challenge to know where to start. They recommend this episode as a good beginner. They've also done some very interesting episodes on the recent Sandy Hook trial, bringing in the lawyers from that trial and talking about what it all means in a much deeper way than most of the media reported on it.

How do you fellas listen to these, do you download them, or just 'stream' them? I had a listen to that Bob Mortimer Beardsley one, enjoyed it and plenty of laugh out loud content, I just googled it after seeing it mentioned here but I'm never sure where to grab it from, the only podcasts I know how to download are from BBC Sounds, do I need to have another podcast provider on my phone? It's android, so I guess that rules out itunes.

eg, I fancy those UK True Crime pods but when I google them I've no idea where to download them from, for free of course, surely we don't have to pay for them?

cheers in advance.
Warhammer.

John palmer - goldfinger on the bbc pod is good.

It paints him in the real picture of a horrible bully (which he was, i know) rather than the cheeky chappy he was portrayed as in the recent drama The Gold

Love a podcast. Some from me

The Meaningful Money Personal Finance podcast. Some really good general advice from a chartered financial planner i.e. the sort of thing rich people pay thousands a year for

Infinite monkey cage. I occasionally learn stuff but usually get lost after about 10 minutes

Freakonomics Radio. Looking at the economics behind lots of things eg a 'good' one during Covid was basically you've got 10 ventilators and 20 people need one, who gets one?

Been mentioned previously, but Dan Carlin's Hardcore History is fantastic. Not many episodes but they are usually about 3 hours long

Diary of a CEO. From Steven Bartlett who does Dragon's Den (a rag, so avoid the interviews with rag player episodes!). Some are just him, but lots of very good interviews with a wide range of guests - other CEOs or founders but then Jimmy Carr, Malcolm Gladwell, Jordan Peterson, Stephen Fry etc. One where I pick and choose my episodes rather than listening to all of them. Sort of a UK version of the Tim Ferris show, which is also worth having a look through episodes and listening to a few

Naval - no, not about ships, basically an interview with Naval Ravikant based on tweets he'd done with lots of c5 minute episodes. He's a US angel investor with some really interesting thoughts about life. Listen to a few episodes and it'll make more sense

No Such Thing As A Fish

A weekly one from the people behind QI. They choose a couple of subjects from what they’ve discovered in the week whilst working on QI and chat about it. There must be a few hundred now and you can pick and choose which episode you want to listen to in any order.
