I get down to a fair few Southport games each season because my mates brother in law is a big fan. It does depend on whether City or Wigan (my mate is a Wigan fan) are playing at home though. They do get decent crowds there of about 1,200 and I'm sure they will get more now they're back in the Conference next season.

I also used to go watching Lancaster when I was a student there a few years back. I got to one game there last season as well because my mate has recently moved back and lives next to the ground.

Good man !

Just a shame Lancaster blew promotion big time ! Top of the league with only a few games to go and then go and lose the play off final with home advantage. Gonna lose the leagues best striker jordan connerton as well for next season he's signed for Crew

I used to be the Vice Chairman of Flixton when they were in the Unibond League a few years back, we managed to get to the semi final of the FA Vase where we lost 1-0 to Brigg Town.

I also enjoyed two FA Cup trips to Morecambe (lost 5-2) and Doncaster Rovers (lost 2-0) both fantastic days and have to say what a fantastic bloke the Doncaster Rovers Chairman John Ryan is, no big time Charlie, and treated us in the same manner as any other team.

unfortunately when we lost our sponsor AJ Edge, most of our team and Manager Dalton Steele left to join Dave Pace at Droylsden.

I also had a semi pro career after leaving Blackburn Rovers at 16, played for Chorley, Glossop North End and Worksop Town.
I read recently that Garry Flitcroft has taken the manager's job at Chorley, assisted by Mike Quigley and Matt Jansen as player/coach. Is it too personal to ask how long ago you were playing semi-pro Trigger?!

Yeah he's left my team, Leigh. Not suprised to be honest, we've been well and truly fucked about by the council and the LSV for the last 2 years so Flitcroft's told them to stick it. He's done a great job as well to be fair, brought in some decent non-league players and played some really entertaining football. Shame the clubs been messed around for the last 3 years and now faces continuous seasons in Unibond Div 1 when only 5 years ago they were in the Conference and about 10 years ago there was about 2 divisions between Leigh and Wigan.

I still hope that we'll bounce back one day, maybe a good FA Cup run could spark off a few back to back promotions.

Ramsbottom United, of the vodkat premier division, had a pretty decent season this season with the new managers. I always get a season ticket for them aswell having one for the blues, as they play a lot of games on tuesday nights, only a short 5 minute walk from my house and its a brilliant alternative when city are not playing.

Best game i have ever seen was in non-league, my mate played for Droylsden and they were playing Radcliffe Boro at the Butchers Arms and Ian Bishop was playing for Radcliffe and they were fantastic, you wouldn't of thought they were a non-league side the way they were spraying it about and all the goals were top notch and went in at half time 4-1. Droylsden came back and won 5-4 in the second half with a 94th minute winner, the Radcliffe players and Bishop just fell to the ground in disbeleif whilst everyone in the stands were going barmy including a huge pile on from the Droylsden players :D Both sets of players gave everything and both would of done a 9-5pm job aswell before playing this epic match.
