OK, after Korean war. That started in first place because Russians, Chinese and Americans had their noses in other nations territories. usual business.

All I want to say is that North Korea won't attack anyone if their regime feels safe of not being attacked. They have zero incentives to do it and they might be all kind of stuff but not stupid. Nuclear weapon for them is a guarantee of their safety. I won't say they won't attack first because they might do it if they feel threatened but leave them alone to do their business and they won't do it. As much suffer they can cause with that weapon, they know they'd suffer much more.

Do you think it's worth the risk of allowing them to build up their arsenal to the point of being able to accurately at western nations with warheads?

Also do you believe the Geneva Convention should be adhered too?

But the leadership of NK aren't bothered about their people, if the guy at the top is a nutter, he probably thinks starting the war will immortalise him forever, the fact he will be a shadow on the ground has not even crossed his mind. I genuinely think if they took him and the generals around him out the rest would not bother attacking as the fear will have gone, does he have doubles like Saddam had, then that would be a problem to make sure you got the right one.

Is he really as mentally unstable as we are led to believe? We have no real way of knowing because of our twisted media and corrupt politicians. We are led to believe that he runs the country and it's people in a cultish manner, if it IS true then he would push the big button wouldn't he?

My worry is an EMP strike. The West, and most of the world rely upon electronics and therefore troops these days have no idea how to fight without communications...

You need to email the MOD and inform them they should practice fighting without communication that rely on electronics.

The best way to deal with North Korea is to not deal with it at all. Nobody certainly doesn't give a shit about north korean people so the best thing is to let it go until they own people do the change. With amount of indoctrination people are under Kim's regime, threats like form idiot Trump is just strengthening Kim domestically. Without this continuous shitting, the NK regime would relax at some time and their people would realize with time it can be better and throw them away on their own.

People on West don't know much about the life in communist society. They all think North Koreans massively can't wait to get rid of Kim but I guarantee you it is not the case.

First, they're isolated and don't know shit about the rest of the world so don't have much to be jealous of. They are under huge indoctrination and they'll buy those feelings massively.

Second, living in communist regime is hard for people who are aspiring for intellectual and economic freedom. You can't be special in those regimes unless you're regime, but the social protection by country is not that bad at all, if having enough is enough for you, you'll be pretty fine. We got rid of communist system here at Balkans 30 years ago, there are loads and loads of people who are nostalgic about those times. Most of them probably live better now but the basic safety socialist system is offering to basic people is something lot of them are missing in these times when tycoons with political background robbed all post-yugoslavia countries of all resources.

North Korea is special thing in this time of history but I am completely sure it is not half as bad for their people as Western media are portraying it. They would have tons of administration and galore of their citizens have a solid public job that gives them opportunity to live some working class life. Watching other peole around you living at similar standard makes it much easier. You don't have to worry about kids seeing new iphone their friend got, at least.

1. I am not worried at all. They won't use it just like anyone else haven't. To be perfectly clear, I couldn't give a shit.

2. I'm not sure what exactly of Geneva are you referring to but if it is something about having nuclear weapons or testing rockets and stuff, then I don't see why Geneva would ban them of having it while allowing USA. Britain, Russia, China, India, Pakistan, Israel etc.. as I said earlier, it's political FFP. We're in, we can destroy the world clicking the few buttons but if you're not our mate, you won't coming in. Fuck that. And North Korea is far more peace loving country than any of those mentioned above. They haven't had a war for decades. All others above, except China, are in perpetual ones.

Military kit tends to be EMP protected in accordance with various published standards i.e. UK DEF-STAN, US MIL-STD and NATO equivalents.

A big concern would be their ability to jam GPS satellites and their cyber capabilities. They are very good at cyber warfare, as the Sony hack in 2014 has shown.

In the 22 years I was in (1975-1997) there wasn't much said about it except that morse code (one of my core skills as a Radio Telegraphist in the Signals) would be the first means of communication to recover afterwards. There was more and more reliance on computers as time went on, and after I left, one of the core skills was gaining an MCSE as part of the training...
