North Stand Construction Discussion

It is indeed a balanced and fair take. Just like the 1894 statement that was made yesterday, yet you had a massive problem with that for some bizarre fucking reason. Oh, and now that it has been revealed that the club only plan to release Flexi Gold season tickets in the new stand would you care to comment on that or do you still think 1894 are a bunch of moaning twats?

Btw, the fact that the 1894 lot and their fanbase often use the words such boot licker to describe blues with a different opinion to theirs, should tell you that there is a big part of this which is a robin hood vanity crusade for them.

Bit by bit all season tickets will become flexi-gold.

At least I’ll be able to hang on to my ‘normal’ season ticket until the day I die. Then the club can do want they want with it. I won’t be arsed because I’ll be dead.

I guessed you were, but just for those who didn’t know ;-)

You should all know me by now. :-)

TBH I’m not arsed about the NS anymore. I’m not surprised. I’ve gone past caring, Being disappointed. Etc. It is want it is. If it fails or if it’s a success, it won’t impact on me in SSL1.

I sometimes wonder what City have to do right. They are up there with Real Madrid as one of the best and most successful football clubs in the World, invested millions to regenerate a run down part of east Manchester, created the best academy in the World and building new facilities which will be the envy of most other clubs in the World, yet most of the fans seem to prefer to slag the club off. Weird, considering where we were 20 years ago. Just saying

Sorry for asking something that may be in an earlier part of the thread, but can someone explain how a flexi gold season ticket differs from a standard 19 league game season ticket ?
If you go to all 19 games you pay £150 extra and can't transfer or list your ticket but you can choose not to go to all games.

You are right about all those things.

But fan engagement is either still very poor or doesn’t exist. That’s the decision the club took a long time ago. And that’s what they are sticking to.

They are season tickets, just with an extra £150 for the privilege.

In reality they are just a disgraceful way the club have thought of to increase season ticket prices on the quiet. The only was as a member you can get a season ticket at the moment is through these, so the club can make £150 extra on every new season ticket sold because there is no alternative.

I am so angry. The club have treated members terribly these last few years. Hopefully the new Citymatters rep for members will challenge the club on all this.
There isn't a new rep for SC holders....it's still Angela Worrall.

Angela refused to join the other CM reps when they issued a statement criticising yet another SC rise this year. Apparently because she was happy with the price of her SC. I wouldn't expect too much push back from her wrt Flexi Golds only.

Sorry I meant new rep for cityzens members, a position which I don't believe has existed before.

Was just gonna say, it sounds like that's the end of new season tickets at city.

If you've got one, make sure you keep it!

The whole point of being a rep is that you put forward the views of others and not just your own.

There have been no new full SCs for the last few seasons. Firstly there were a handful of the short-lived Silver option and this summer the grand total of 600 Flexi Golds were snapped up in minutes.

It's clear that there are thousands fewer SC holders than before COVID as there is always a churn rate each summer. Nearly all non-renewals will.have been made match day instead.

So if you choose or are unable to go to all 19 games, the club presumably have the right to sell your seat at an inflated price for those games ?

Surely the club have to be challenged on this. The Football supporters association will be interested and I’m going to bet they are completely opposed.

It’s killing the atmosphere at a lot clubs and it feels like such a big change - surely the fans have to be consulted about it

Maybe that’s why we are seeing more empty seats at league matches. It’s just short term thinking.

If I was local these days I would probably be more sympathetic, but I am so far from Manchester now I have become a “tourist”, in the words of many on here, despite having been a fan of 58 years and a regular at Maine Road for half my adult life. But now I live in Bournemouth, who are also in the Premier League. I have a grandson mad on football, and he relies on his Dad paying for hospitality so he can watch them, the capacity is less than 12k, and the tickets are impossible to get except for friendlies and unattractive Carabao Cup home ties. So in effect, for every home game he and his Dad attend, they pay more than a Ticket for a City home game. I read somewhere that Leyton Orient sell out their home games every week, and they are in Division One. The big issue here is that the demand for tickets is outstripping supply, City’s owners would be mad not to follow the rules of economic success. Sad but true, blame the TV
