I don’t think there will be many City fans staying in the hotel, at least those based locally

Really....who will be staying in it, rags ? Every home game it will be booked out with City fans, one hotel isn't enough, i expect another one will also be added.

Don’t forget there’s something like 450 rooms for a stadium which will hold near 62,000.

It was be used a lot by Co-op Live ticket buyers as well.

It is. When @pride in battle first claimed it, I had a go at 'fact checking' it. It will be the biggest hotel in Manchester, by number of bedrooms (401). The next biggest coming are 357 and 338. After that it drops significantly. There are taller hotels, or bigger in area, but by number of rooms it will be the biggest, out of anything currently proposed. As far as I have been able to see.

Just this as a reminder of the next size of hotel after this, for comparison. And one of those is not built yet.

Joking aside, the hotel is massive. The context here is vast so doesn't quite look it maybe, but in the city centre, the scale of it would be more obvious.

They'll have most of the terracing in before starting the new roof. It looks like they're going to cut away the back sections of the roof (the steel, not the panels), so that they have room to join the tier together and complete the terracing

I've heard the Premier League want to introduce a new rule framework, it's called Associated Hotel Transactions (AHTs). So, any club that has a hotel within 500 metres of the centre circle will be classed as a AHT. In this context the club has to apply to the swindling cartel bastards PL for a FMV for the per person per night charge, and for every room standard. The initial assessment by swindling corrupt bastards Nielsen is a basic charge of £9.95 pppn for the single rooms and £14.95 pppn for the bigger rooms. The rate for the Presidential Suite is capped at £17.95 pppn. The swindling cartel bastards PL say they are acting in the best interests of the hotel ecosystem and only seeking to ensure no single hotel has a competitive advantage over the likes of Holiday Inn, Ibis, Premier Lodge and Hotel Football.
