I did wonder if the top chunk (crap description I know) has actually been pulled up and in a bit by the load of the cable-net and when the plate is put in and the gap is finally closed up, that load will be properly taken up by the whole lot being properly anchored to the ground at the back.

They will need to put a bearing plate in between the columns otherwise there is no bearing. Then new plates will most likely be needed to join the columns as that’s a huge gap.

This sounds like something out of William McGonagal.

A cloudless blue sky in Manchester this morning. Latest site progress meeting..... 2 more weeks of slipform works and then we can crack on with the remainder of the works taking us into 2025. The communication provided to us from site is excellent and allows us forward plan each element of the works. It is. Assume that means that the concreting of the hotel floors will be completed and the two core towers for the shop/museum/office side will be done in the next couple of weeks

The hotel is flying up, I expect them to start the glazing before the end of the year.

You have people doing 2/3 times weekly drone footage in 4k, far better in my opinion than a webcam.

Once the serious internals start I would imagine the club will start showing those to one and all.

If you think it’s better. That’s a matter of opinion. But there’s nothing wrong with a live webcam (there was one for the Coop Live Arena), drone updates from CP Overview, SS Skies, etc, and picture takers.

A live webcam would cover the daily build. Drone videos would cover aerial views and close ups of the build, and picture takers would cover the ground level build.

There doesn’t have to be a live webcam closeup of the build, which I know the club have an issue with.

The webcam used for the Coop Live Arena build, I think, was placed on one of the apartment blocks overlooking the Coop Live Arena construction site.

You can clearly see the old City Square, where the new North stand is being constructed now, in the picture, even though the main focus of the live webcam is the Coop Live Arena build.

A live webcam would capture so much more, the problem with a drone is i capture what is going on at that particular time, at some point normally i will get something major but its down to luck. Would be nice to get a little insider info when things are happening.

I remember you saying you had missed certain parts of the build that you were a little frustrated about. Obviously you can’t fly the drone 24/7. And you were away on holiday for 2 weeks recently. Which I thought was a bit unprofessional of you. ;-) Can you take your next holiday in one years time please. :-)

All of us will have a view on this, but I think the next big and obvious thing to happen will be the windows, fins, and cladding going onto the hotel concrete frame?

Though not obvious it is built on huge rollers and so can be moved much closer to the pitch when other works are complete.

No, NSL1 is stay were it is, Gouldybobs. The fans sat the back of the new NSL2 will be much further back from the picth. Probably similar to the backs of CBL3 and ESL3, if not further back?(I stand corrected on that)

We are getting some Ipswich lads in with their tractors to move it pitchside when the construction is finished, let's hope CPO has his drone in the air that day!

I watched Bournemouth v City earlier this year, at the back of the south stand (a temporary structure whilst they dither about a new stadium). The whole ground holds less than 12k but it was hard enough to see what was going on in the north end goalmouth from there. It looks like those needing oxygen at the back of the new Etihad North Stand will need binoculars.
