North Stand Construction Discussion

Hilarious that the AO Arena are still objecting.
MCC's Public Health Team is also objecting, they are allowing vaping in lot of the site and planning to sell vapes in the arena.

Wanting 24 hour events and 4am bar for others and lack of a transport plan hasn't helped before these stage.

A concern is the Canal too, that is why the proposed walkway is avoiding it as a hazard. People walking back in pitch black at 4am off their heads isn't great.

Everyone agrees the bus idea is a good one, but the video below advises that the drop off area was not good at all for all fans with most of them getting dropped off in Briscoe Lane

Until they come up with a train plan

The COOP Live should not have been agreed upon until proper infrastructure was in place.

Look at Edinburgh just now they are also getting a new concert arena which is next to the Edinburgh-Glasgow train line, it is also right next to a tram line as well and already has 3 hotels next to as well.

What is happening now is about to become crazy when the Arena opens as none of this is in place except the tram lol

They could build a multi storey like this on the waste ground where the gas meter is, giving direct acess to the main road passing the staduim and Coop Live all the fans and people need to do is walk up Joe Mercer Way not crosing the A6010

Nothing, because there’s no extra money/funding for creating additional capacity on Metrolink. Gtr Manchester’s whole transport infrastructure and network is grinding to a halt as Manchester’s population continues to boom, meaning more cars, and more people using public transport. Traveling from A to Z around Gtr Manchester is taking longer and longer.
And even if the money was available, there's not a cats chance anything would be sorted in just two years (barring perhaps, squadrons of shuttle buses).

The pinch point will come after a few gigs, when complaints from Pixi and Chantelle start to flood in about the transport links. High heels stuck in uneven paving stones, uncovered walkways, dark mutterings of the canal side scallies.

It will get sorted when twatter is flooded with threads dissing the concertday experience. Focus groups will be formed and the PR agency will scream blue murder as the AO sell more seats.

The feedback will gird the loins of all stakeholders when it affects profits and reputations.

Give it 2 years, we'll have a monorail, travelators and a log flume.

Vapes are gonna be banned. That’s a certainty.

Not sure of the solution the canal path - but I’m sure majority will walk via the proposed walkway - especially those not familiar with the route back to town.

Just messing about mate, as the picture of the model has been already posted on the North stand thread. The top near corner at the end of the world LIVE in white. Enlarge the picture. You can’t miss what looks like damage to the model. I‘ll check the real arena on Sunday. Hopefully the living wall will be finished along Alan Turing Way? It was part finished the last time I saw it.
There were differs working on the ground clearance until about 6.15pm today. I was going to the Academy for an OSC Meeting. Got to Victoria Station for about 8.30pm and noticed the cranes above the MUEN arena. I wasn’t sure if the work was on the arena or behind it.
