Do you know what the plans are for opposite where this hotel will be. The land where toys r us etc was? Seems to have been nothing for ages now.

If the weather is OK tomorrow or on Monday, I will do a construction roundup. I've haven't done one for a few weeks.

Thanks "HelloCity" it was a weird flight as the controller was different to what I was used to and was trying to test some features, shows the roof at a different angle on the southstand.

@ssskies @cpoverview

You'll have to make sure the south stand corners are part of your videos this summer. Sounds like a new screen being fitted in one and potentially a re-working of the other going by one of the recent posts here.

1. What does GA seating mean?
2. How will rain water run off the new stand as it slopes downwards towards the pitch?
1. GA = General Admission - the great unwashed
2. The single large drainpipe that used to run off the back of the stand will be replaced by corner drainpipes, I assume much like what was done with the South Stand roof.

Pretty certain the roof drainage ,and that of the hotel and office will be a “siphonic” system which actually sucks the water into the drainage rather than rely on gravity , but may not be the case ;-)

a syphonic system means that a roof doesn't need to be laid to falls, it can be flat. The gullies then all discharge into a single horizontal carrier pipe, which then discharges into vert RWP's, the whole system can be fitted inside the building envelope, and the main benefit is no unsightly vertical pipes outsidethe building.

The increase in size of pipe here creates the siphon break which allows the rain water to return to gravity flows, always an indicator if the roof drainage is a siphonic system.

Not seen any drone footage of this drainage system. Hope ssskies and cpoverview are listening!

Hotel and office, I would think so. The stand, I don't think so.

@DiscoSteve , I've seen you ask this a few times here and on SSC, re the old large drainage chute.

The proposals are for this to be replaced with similar chutes either side of the new stand projection. There are also 2 similar ones within the square for the erfe roof. Circled in red below in various locations.

As for the current temporary set-up, can't see anything in place in fairness, there is either a temporary solution we can't see in the drone videos, or possibly they are just accepting they live with it during the works.

For those asking about drainage, see above from a while back showing location of the biggie downpipes.

Edit. The ones within the city square are only for the etfe roof above the square. The hotel and commercial building seem to be internal. Presumably siphonic.
