North Stand Construction Discussion

Pretty much yeah.

Those two towers are the main supports for the new roof. They each contain 5 escape staircases, a passenger lift and a goods lift, plus a couple small ancillary rooms that vary on different levels (telecoms, prayer, first aid room, pantry etc). At the top level the big part of them is VIP rooms and suites, with only one stair all the way down at that point, the other 4 replaced by larger rooms out to the stadium. My guess would be the lift is a dedicated sky-bar lift to go straight up to the vip bits, and not one that will stop at each concourse. But overall, they are the main structural 'cores' that take up the new roof and link the new concourses and seating tier to the office and hotel at the back.
Prayer room?

We needed one of them at Maine rd. don’t need one here

I hope it is a long LOG Flume.

Or something like this

I did the Stadium Tour today, a treat from my Son, I thought it was excellent well organised and informative.
The tour guide mentioned a when the Expansion is complete we they will be starting a new Stadium Tour with a Zip. Wire from the North Stand roof down to pitch level and or a roof walk which means you will be able to walk fully around the stadium roof.
His information was he believed it will be two and half years before its completed.

Lesser attractive games. We’re heading in the right direction for under 18 tickets, £23. Could definitely be lower. Adults maybe prepared to pay the going match ticket rate if they know their children can get cheaper tickets and go to the match with them as a family? When the Etihad is expanded the club should put an affordable price cap on under 18 tickets regardless of the opposition. Under 18’s are our future supporters.

These are definitely relists on the exchange.
I was checking several times a day up until about a week before this but nothing came up in SS2.
I had to buy a junior in SS3 and aim to do the spiral walk before ko to collect my lad.

add a climbing wall for the red dippers.

It's all very well expanding the stadium and increasing capacity, but has any thought gone into improving the public transport.
An increased number of flights from Beijing to Manchester are being put on as we speak

I’ve heard there’s a planning application being submitted next month for a zip wire from the top of the viewing platform on the roof of the North stand all the way down to Great Ancoats Street. City are also currently doing a feasibility study for a long flume running along the River Medlock from the Etihad Campus to Piccadilly Basin.
How long will the long flume be ?

Not just for match days either by the looks. Screen C only is limited to still images, no video or moving images allowed as it's the only one that impacts residences close by.

136764/AOH/2023 planning reference.

The proposal would result in three LED advertisement screens being installed.

Screen A: northern gable end of commercial building 17.3m x 19.4m x 300mm
Screen B: northern gable end of hotel building 17.3m x 16.9m x 300mm
Screen C: eastern gable end of hotel building 20.4m X 16.9m x 300mm
All signs will be limited to 300 cd/m2

The screens are likely to be in use between 07:00am and 00:00am, with increased activation during pre- and post-event. The LED screens would form an integral part of the building façades. The locations would provide activity to the façade on the main pedestrian approach to the north stand.

Yeah screen C has some onerous conditions.
- no moving images or video
-no images that resemble road signs
- no individual ads less than 10 second slides
- controls to ensure smooth gradual transition between ads
- light sensor to adjust brightness in ambient light levels
- default black screen in event of malfinctuon, i.e no error messages or flashing watnings
- limited luminance levels
- limited upward light spill (presumably top buffers/overhangs.

Screens A and B are less onerous, they allow videos and moving images, as long as they don't resemble road signs.

All 3 screens need to be 'tested' prior to first use, and assessed for distracrion to tram drivers during darkening hours. With potential to add further measures upon assessment at the time.

Annual monitoring process of the backing boards, with action to he carried out within 2 months if identified needing addressed.

All 3 to be switched off from midnight till 7AM. Or when not 'required' to be in use.

You've made my planning alarm sound with the use of "onerous" conditions there mate!

Boring contract semantics but they're not onerous just restrictive and certainly reasonable and necessary.
