Peacock Precision’s role involves specialist preparation and structural work to enable the integration of the new screens within the stadium’s existing infrastructure.

The Peacock team were on site this week, setting the steels so that the digital screens can be hung from the roof.

Thanks jrb we will both keep an eye on that screen. Such a busy day today, just glad we are both over the build.

Cheers

Ffs my seat is two rows further back (rowH) than shown on that second photo. Looks like I’ll be behind the screen with no view of it. Also will impact on my view and banter with the away fans on L3 of the South Stand. Gutted!
Think that’s sealed the deal to move to the new North Stand.345A5328-10B8-4D5B-BDBE-EE68A19CA9E2-COLLAGE.jpeg

You'll get a nice close up side view of the digital screen. ;-)

Why move?

It's an impressive crane with the counter balance system. I'm sure between me and CP we will try our best to get some lifts of the old stand roof coming down. I can see the medlock hotel selling out when the likes of Robbie Williams is playing and city's major opponents too.
Really ??? Fucking hell, course it will !

Not sure from that image how you can ascertain where the screen will go ????

Mad really that’s it’s taken us 10 years to add at least one screen to those eye sore corners. I can only presume there was a plan at one time to move the north stand screens up to the south stand when they redeveloped the north stand but that changed when they decided not to develop the corners in the same way.

Off topic, but hotel related.

Manchester is now getting the top hotel brands.

InterContinental Hotel is coming to Manchester to replace the Hilton Hotel at Beetham tower. The Hotel will be refurnished

Beetham would be the fourth UK InterContinental. Two of the other three are in London with another in Edinburgh.

There's plenty of good quality Hotel competition for the Medlock.

Back to topic.
As long as they don’t let Britannia anywhere near, I don’t mind!

With the new screen will that impact the corporate area of the ardwick pub inside the ground?

No. The pub is roughly behind the three small seating areas (maybe a little further around), so they won’t be impacted at all.

Just re-read your question and I had misread it. From the images (ages ago… I can’t find them) it shows the screens bottom edge level with the concrete platform.

I wondered why there was so much scaffolding. It’s obvious now that you can see the gap where the screen will eventually be located. [emoji106]

They were recommended by some US consultants to have one in each corner and show the game live on the screens which they did maybe there will eventually be one per corner?

Why move?
Why move? Because although I’ll still have an uninterrupted view of the pitch, I won’t have one of the stand next to me. The screen will effectively block out about half of it I reckon. I enjoy looking at the away fans from time to time as much as our fans having the craic in the South Stand with them. I’ll see how it goes but if the view’s bobbins I’ll try and locate a bit further forward or do one completely into the new stand and see what the craic is in there.
