What do you base that on?I still think once they have made the joint waterproof, they will cut away part of the overlapping old east stand roof . Thus bringing the corner into view

I thought safe standing was in the middle of the tier ?I think we know now why they specifically chose the end blocks to be safe standing.
It was so they could be sold off as a cheaper “obstructed view” option to the more rowdy fans who are just happy to have a regular space.
Could see both end blocks being mainly made up of season/flexi card holders.

Most would presumably be busy hugging, falling down, humping with joy. That's where the GA- seats should be located. :-(
GA+.
GA.
GA-( obstructed view)
Here's a really shit scenario of being stood there.
ilkay scores the 3rd goal against Villa, then runs over the corner celebrating.
"FFS, I can't see him and the players celebrating!"
Just stick some smaller screens hanging from above for those impacted. Got to be a cheaper option. Also confirmed you won't be able to see a screen from this block making the decision not to have one in the SW corner even stranger.
Not related to the North Stand but there's also the complaint about the lack of a 4th screen in the SW corner, and ongoing grumblings about the general state of the exterior and walkways3 complaints aren't bad considering the size and scale of the redevelopment of the North stand.
If you look where the sides of the new stand come down and meet the east stand roof. Part of the east stand roof would protrude past the joint. Maybe a metre or more. What do you base that on?

Because it has to. It doesn't work without the overlap. The water off the vertical faces when clad would run straight into the stand below. It needs that overlap to shed onto the old roof over this portion of it.If you look where the sides of the new stand come down and meet the east stand roof. If this was cut off to blend in it would open up the view to corner.
Yea I got what you meant, responded above.Marked in yellow
You probably right. Just seemed odd to have that overlap but I get it now you have explained itBecause it has to. It doesn't work without the overlap. The water off the vertical faces when clad would run straight into the stand below. It needs that overlap to shed onto the old roof over this portion of it.
Besides, there would be one hell of an undertaking to trim that roof now. The cranes and equipment off the pitch have been cleared, and the stand is progrssing and I can't see where they put up propping. The ring cable also nodes at this point.
I just don't see it being cut back mate, and I don't see how or even why they would want to.
But more than happy to be proven wrong if it does end up happening.

The roofs don’t join so there’ll need to be some overhang over the East and West side roofs to handle rainwater. I don’t think they’ll be trimmed.Marked in yellow

Either that or these seats are sold as The Poznan Corner!
- I obviously meant to say jumping there but sometimes the autocorrect is worth leaving untouched.
- and all based on the assumption there will actually be a partially obstructed view.
Think in these days of computer modelling and virtual reality , I’ll be amazed if there are “line of sight “ issues ! It’s probably all about camera angles just like the new corner screen and the “supposed” removal of the existing ardwick seats ;-)Back few rows all the way along and then the two end blocks - forming an ‘n’ shape.
Agree, I did say elsewhere it might be a quirk of the picture. Maybe the poster can elaborate, does it feel lime that in person, i.e is the view restricted when there @Nev66 ?Think in these days of computer modelling and virtual reality , I’ll be amazed if there are “line of sight “ issues ! The piece you've picked out in yellow is one of the supporting beams so that's not happening.Marked in yellow
That could actually be a damn good point on the pitch lines. The piece you've picked out in yellow is one of the supporting beams so that's not happening.
Perhaps we're going for a much narrower pitch next season? ;)
That said, do the touchlines follow the join between grass and artificial stuff?
