North Stand Construction Discussion

Reference the sightlines, would the original plans have contingency of safe standing being
installed anywhere in the extension, either upon opening or in the future and so be included in original design process

The Design & Access Statement says that pretty much all of the 2nd tier could be safe standing in the future. Edit: emphasis on 'could be'

I love the inside of the stadium, superb views and plenty of leg room.

You have to be a midget to watch football at the Swamp in any sort of comfort.
Agreed !!

especially in the 2nd tiers I recon if there was the same legroom as the Etihad the capacity would be nearer to 65-67 k

In my working life in the building Industry 75 % of contractors if they had corporate entertainment facilities they were at the swamp , really pissed me off ! ;-(

How times have changed !

Yea, it was always a consideration. The stand is futureproofed for the entire thing to he safe standing, should there be that decision in the future.

I missed the safe standing news. What’s this business about an n shaped pattern of safe standing? When was it announced?

That picture wasn’t even taken from the corner. If it was then a sizeable chunk is cut off
I don't think there's going to be a Goodison style view anywhere in that stand. When we’re talking about potential sight line issues we’re talking a tiny number of seats who can’t see a tiny portion of the pitch.

Looking at the partly marked out pitch; it appears the playing surface is going to be wider than previously.
