North Stand Construction Discussion

Speaking as a 82 year old FOC just hope we will be able to cut through City sq after the match for the tram saving a long walk round, got a fast track tram ticket all helps to get to Picc for train back to Devon.
Yes you can see in the image that there is a walk connecting east to west sides and through City Square so not much different than before aside from most of it is uncover

Also, I've realised something rather disturbing in the current temp setup behind the Family Stand - the wall/doors have appeared, the bogs have moved under the seating (in blue below) and there is loads of space under there now in front of some temporary bars - I've been and looked back at the original plans and all of that space looks like its going to be reduced to a corridor and get sealed into a private area (GA+ I think) shown in purple below.... not good for any of us in L2 (now L1) at that end...

HOWEVER - having read the DAS document again (Page 87 Section 4.1) and this page I see that all the GREY areas will be where GA people will be directed with their bars marked in Orange!

Not to revisit old ground, but that was my point ages ago, that the GA+ isn't really 'that' exclusive or isolated.

A few pictures from yesterday after the drop down banner was put in situ.

Click on the picture panoramic picture of the Etihad to enlarge it on your device.

It should work.

I'll post the other pictures of the North stand taken before the game later on today.

Looking at the side of the new roof yesterday from seat in the north stand. The gap that is currently underneath the polycarbonate - perhaps that is where the new stand finishes and they fill the gap by adding a vertical piece to the existing stand?

Looking at it in person - that looks an easier solution because it’s on the inner side of the gap.

Apologies if this has been answered before, but what will be the purpose of the sections protruding from the front of the new roof?

They're for the huge drop down tifo's I think.

The TIFO Banners are proposed to be hung in 3 filleted segments to accommodate the curve of the bowl, allowing for a triptych display. The banner will be hung from 3m beams at the edge of the bowl roof, to be coordinated by the structural engineers. The banners need fall in front of the seating tier to ensure spectator safety. The location of the banners will not adversely impact upon the structural design of the roof and will contribute positively to the match day experience of the supporters.

I not sure if this is right place, but someone from club tell me tickets for Take That go on sale 27 September. This summer at Etihad, The Weeknd and Kendrick Lamar also coming which will come out soon.
