It's nearly winter, the wife usually leaves her's until spring.

Forgive me if this has already been asked and answered. But if the focus on the North stand isn’t to improve the atmosphere, then what was the point in having a unified 2nd tier, why not just mirror the South Stand?

I spoke with one of the chief architects on the project. He explained that going with two tiers (rather than three) created more space for facilities beneath the stand and allowed for a smoother integration with the hotel.





That said, I do think atmosphere played some part in the decision — but unfortunately, it seems to have taken a back seat to other, more revenue-driven priorities.

I guess that's to do with that being the end where the access tunnel is.

I'd be surprised if promoters/artists don't start to take advantage of the increased capacity and have a centre stage, so all of the seated areas including expanded North Stand can be used. Covering up the North Stand is taking away more capacity than a centre stage would use up, surely?

It was discussed a while back, with many thinking it would be at the South stand end due to the facilities in the New North stand.

Not a big fan of centre stages, the acts always has their back to someone, works for someone like Taylor Swift who's always on the move, would be a horrendous for an Oasis gig.

There will be a small stage they can walk out to which will be in the centre, but the main stage will be at the north stand end.
