North Stand Construction Discussion

Who are you blaming the efflorescence on , agreed that the brick is a poor choice , but not bad bricklaying , will weather off in due course
Wet bricks,
Storage, proper protection after the bricks have been laid.
Possible that some of the salts are down to the bricklayers

City and Populous could carry the theme into the Hotel rooms.

£33/m2

Distressed Brick Wallpaper.

Nordic Blue copper wall cladding is pre-patinated at the Aurubis mill to immediately provide the same blue patinated surface that otherwise develops over time in the environment. Different intensities of patina flecks can be created, revealing some of the dark-oxidised background.

It would have tied in nicely with the stadium grey, Hotel glass windows, and the Hotel white sails.

In my opinion.

Did City and Populous used a mood board when deciding on the brick exterior of the Hotel?

That looks dodgy as fook every before you get out on the roof FFS!

A while ago CP overview showed that the deck behind the new screen had been extended just like the one in manager's corner so it could be a new screen.
Would they need planning permission for whatever they are up to?

They already have planning permission for 4 screens, under the previous approval.

Anyone know if this is the final finish for this bit or there something overlaying it? Took a walk around on Sunday. I think it could be so much better if this is to be the final finish. There's no texture or detail. It looks like an after thought (No Shit Sherlock) but the materials used to blend the south stand to the original structure are much cleaner and seamless.

I don't mind the abruptness of the stand coming out, just the blending of old to new.

I should really be patient and wait for the finished product, but can anyone elaborate?

The salts are in the clay before firing take place so it’s not fault it’s just the nature of the product , so your points are not valid

Like the rest of us you’ll just have to see , cos the club are very secretive

Bricks and mortar contain salts, such as sulfates or carbonates of calcium, sodium, or potassium
Water, from rain or other sources, dissolves these salts and carries them through the porous material.
You didn't mention mortar, so your points are not valid.
Wet bricks are the problem.
