North Stand Construction Discussion

They are not going to change the configeration now so we are left with how it is now, if we had 3000 singers in the north stand (the rail seats) it would be loud as fuck.
The club has built it, it's up to the fan groups/fans to fill it with singers.
TBF to you, nobody can fault your enthusiasm.

Unfortunately we haven’t got 3000 dedicated ‘singers’. We’ve got 3000 fans who will take up those rail seats. On top of that, the 3000 rails seats have been formed into an upside down U shape along the back and on both sides of NSL2, meaning the 3000 fans who will occupy those rail seats are spread across NSL2 instead of being all together at the back of NSL2.

Questions.

How are the fans going to get ‘3000 singers’ together on NSL2 by themselves?(don’t say 1894)

What exactly is the clubs role in making that happen, and it becoming a reality in time for the stand opening early next year, or in time for next season?

You think you've got it tough? Try living in rag and dip central.
I was in manc last weekend and I went in mulligans with my City jacket on...that was a challenge...I was watching the Irish match with my blue Mum but were visiting my red sister and her red boyfriend...never a dull moment on the Manchester irish scene wahay!!!

As you know i believe 1894 have missed a huge opportunity not going into the north stand, this would have been the catalyst for the club and 1894 to have worked together to promote the 'singing section'
I still believe it could work and i think nearer the time the club will push this...
Fingers crossed anyway.

Today is very good example of why it’s a terrible idea to put 600 ‘GA+’ seats front and center of a supposed home end.

Seats will be similar to 93:20 which was infested with Leeds fans today. A city fan has been seriously injured (broken leg apparently).

The club treat us fans with utter contempt and expect us go above and beyond to make their botched attempt at a home end atmospheric?

Not for me, thanks.

City need a complete overhaul of the ticketing policy if they want the North Stand to be a success.

Well said, looks like the thread has now been deleted @Manchester33 @jrb

This is a very good point raised about tickets ending up in the wrong hands i.e. away fans in the corporate seats of the North Stand (City Hall and Level 0).

Looking at how City Hall will be configured, to access the seats in the lower tier of the North Stand, you will need to pass through the lower concourse. This will be a flash point, without a doubt if any away fans are in City Hall.

I sit there currently and there are plenty of blues there drinking etc.

We had a Mother with her young child in block 120 yesterday, both Leeds fans, both with City memberships. They’ve had them a couple of years. The seats they were sat in are normally occupied by 2 regular season ticket holders.
I sit with 8 friends and family, all season ticket holders. If one or more of us can’t go, to a game, we usually resell on exchange through the City website.
I’ve had fans sitting in our resold seats, bringing their City mad kids to games, who’s parents support other teams. Again they’ve had memberships,
When games are slow to shift tickets, any bugger with a membership can buy them, even with next no purchase history.
Thats how easy it is for many for less attractive games.
Then we have the third party sellers!
At the recent ECL game, I had two Sale Sharks rugby players sat next to me, that was a tight squeeze!!!!
Although City fans, they got their tickets through a friend at the club!
I’m sure many of us gave acquired seats in away ends, I’ve sat in the Boardroom and Kenny Dalgleish stands at Anfield in recent years, through contacts and sat in every stand at Old Trafford, even sneaked my mate and I in through a staff entrance on one occasion, where there’s a will there’s a way.
But it seems far too many tickets are now falling too easily into away fans hands at The Etihad.
The whole ticket selling process needs a reset, away tickets are now like rocking horse shit, even I, after 50 odd years a season ticket holder and a gazillion loyalty points can’t get many of the tickets I’d like, and when I do, I see the regulars, but all too often, 100’s of unrecognisable faces, primarily foreign speaking, who clearly have paid top dollar for the tickets, with a package or corporate sale.
It’s nonsense.

Another poor run on the pitch this season and they’ll have to have a huge rethink in the ticket office. We are already seeing 100’s of empty seats at games

My point all along has been that any corporate / hospitality / GA+ whatever they want to call it will inherently involve some 'guests' who are not City fans, and to plonk them in the middle of City fans who are being encouraged to be more 'lively' is bound to lead to running battles with stewards every week

This has absolutely fuck all to do with the North stand construction.
