North Stand Construction Discussion

just you - they look out over the pitch BUT wont be used as bookable rooms on match nights, just as boxes. unlike MK Dons by the way, a few years ago I genuinely did have a 'if carlsberg did hotel rooms' experience
You’ve misread the thread ! The poster was not talking about the pitch view rooms but simply ones that face the back of the stand rather than the co-op live arena , personally I’d rather look at the arena I think

None of the rooms face the arena as such, well apart from the top floor exec rooms with the balcony above the north screen. But I agree with you, i'd prefer other directions than onto the back of the stand. Pitch views tho (on non-match days) should easily get the premium.

ok

Thanks. Looks like its the Orange car park then. 150 spaces for a 400 room hotel sounds tight. The Premier Inn we usually stay at has more than that ;-)

It's also 150, out of an already existing provision for a pre-extension stand fwiw.

yeah. It will be interesting to see how they manage this. I couldn't book a room and parking today.
I think my conclusion is that I can't depend on being able to book a hotel room plus parking for next season. If I do, it'll be a surprise. I say that because of 1) we wont know dates until July soonest and will have to compete with concert goers who have had dates confirmed months in advance and 2) parking will be at a premium. Hope I'm wrong.

Might not even be as formal as that tbh. They might just zone out an area, with a stock response, and then let it be a bit of a free for all. Time will tell.

There’s a whole wing of the hotel ( 6 floors ) that face the co-op arena ?

How will they do that ? Take the beds out ?

Yes. There is storage on that floor, for the bedroom furniture and vip rooms to interchange. This was noted in the approval, so it isn't a change really, but the recent new club images show the room used as a vip suite instead of a bedroom.

Looking at the photo of the bed , they have a board running up to the ceiling either side of the top of the bed and I think they will have a hinge to flip the bed into the wall.

Good spot. Think you've cracked it.

Per @bluekeith 's observation, images of pitch side rooms below for reference.

The bed would fold up into the framed flanks, and the loose furniture then is the only thing that would need moved in and out of storage on that floor on matchdays.

Would be weird sat at that table knowing someone had been knocking one out in the bed there the night before.
