North Stand Construction Discussion

Well look at the state of the brickwork on the first one , it shows it just a brick look not proper bricks and the second is showing that some of the insulation has been cut off for reasons I am not sure on
Do you mean the brick “slips “ on the soffit ??

Not ai slop unfortunately, its a meal at the side of the pitch hospitality event. I mentioned it on another thread. The video is from a test event last week.

I was at an event on Friday evening in the Tunnel Club. This was on the pitch and being used for a dining experience, according to the staff there. On the stadium advertising boards half a dozen names were being welcomed to the Etihad.

That will only be the case on the soffits, the rest will be brick rather than slips.

Wow, some of the insulation has been cut off for reasons you're not sure on? Stop the press.

You realise it's not finished yet?

Think the cut outs may be to do with the etfe roof brackets that need installation , as the brackets currently stop a the end of the “ claw” extension . Also there’s an access bridge over the roof for maintenance access ( the 2 mystery small platforms are the ends I assume ??)

I went down today to do a construction picture update.

The weather was nice.

The back car parks were closed off.

Not sure what event was going on.

Instead I went to Asda and bought some…..

I’ll do a construction picture update next week, weather permitting.

Brick slip support systems, very common these days in construction and aren't cheap. From experience Contractors will try and get a steel fabricator to knock up an alternative scheme to save money.

On door openings it’s a much better look than the underside of a galvanised lintel, and worth noting ,far more expensive so fair play to the designers for that ! :-)
