North Stand Construction Discussion

I saw somewhere that they might be also used for TV studio's for the Euros
There is a dedicated tv room in the new north stand , so I think the previous poster is right about the hospitality boxes unless UEFA pay mega bucks for the privilege :-)

I know we have 2 TV studio's already but for the Euros we will need more and I am sure it would have been in the bid package.

I had giddy visions of a Munich Beer festival tent setting with a City themed hall with loads of City related memorabilia, with seating and standing areas, loads of bars, and possibly food outlets

I've been to the Munich beer festival and tried most of the huge tents, and each one has it's own unique theme and atmosphere, but all are brilliant and fun.

I'm not saying City Hall should be like the Munich beer tents, but something similar within City Hall would have been great. Everyone sitting next to each other chatting, singing, drinking, and eating. It would have been a great match day experience in our new home end.

Sometimes I just wish the directors running the club would think a bit differently than another 2 hospitality areas.

What about the GA fans? We're probably the most important part of the fan base, yet we've been sidelined and overlooked during the clubs constant push for more hospitality areas inside the Etihad and inside the new North stand

There are actually two issues with it for me.

The obvious one is location. The other is capacity.

The first is where, rather than the what. Zero issue with the club wanting a hospitality offering to 500 people, but dedicating exclusively the entirety of the principal level to just that, wipes out THE key space in the stand, the one that the Medlock Square fronts onto, and the whole of level 0 stand backs onto. Just such an odd prime place, to be that exclusive.

The second is capacity. The space is designed to hold 1800 people, but limited to 500 now. Again no issue with those that pay more having more space to themselves, but it is disproportionate. Not just to itself, but to the whole tier it serves. That tier is not far of 4000 seats. A concourse with bars that can hold 1800 can serve that fine, and is in line with the ratio of the upper tier concourses. But now it is set to only 500 (which probably serves 1000 ticket holders, going by the hospitality ratios elsewhere), where do the other 3000 people in that tier go. Upstairs to Level 2 for a beer, with those from above all there? The whole 'there is enough for everyone' thing gets said a lot and I'm a believer of that, but in this case, I'm not sure there is.

Neither of those are an issue with the original GA+ allocation above, just to be clear. That's a 300 capacity bar, within a larger concourse with its own capacity of 3300 to serve the rest of that level. So the whole level is fully accessible by its tier, and the hospitality is only 10% of it. And the concourse serves 56% of its seating tier. Unlike the city hall, which is 100% of its concourse, and serves at best 30% of its tier.

A really odd thing to do, turning the city hall into such an offering. Based on the wording of the club statements, that is, which lets face it lately has shown itself to be quite poor.

Studios are off-site at major tournaments, sometimes back in the country they are broadcasting to. BBC and ITV normally have a landmark in the capital city behind them, they stay there wherever the game is. Commentators are in the stands, they just expand that area.

The new building also contains the police control room as well as City’s stadium team this one is higher and bigger than the old one I don’t think it’s for the TV as said there is an existing facility for TV and a new one in the NNS

With the wall for the museum being huge, and nothing on it. What about a champions wall, so how many trophies City has won, it would tie in with the museum

The Scousers have got a champions/trophy wall.

Not that it matters, but we’d be accused of copying them.

That side, it would be too congested around there on a match day to have people standing around looking at the trophy wall and blocking the routes to the stand and to the Metrolink platforms and steps.

So do Glasgow Rangers

How did Rangers win all of them trophies in just 14 years?
