North Stand Construction Discussion

Having away fans at the back of SSL3 is preferable to pitch side where they can influence the game more.
I don't remember seeing or hearing away fans influencing the games at Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs, etc. What I do hear is little or no noise from those away sections on the pitch side corners. Compare that to the noise and support 1000+ away fans generate on SSL3.

The club could even offer senior citizens their own reduced price block and get all the Main Stand Moaners in one place.
I agree with the sentiment except not all senior citizens/FOC's are "Main Stand Moaners" and we have our fair share of younger ones. All possibly could be moved to the same reduced price, out of the way block thus giving one less thing to moan about.

An alternative option would be to create a new restricted view block for them, preferably high up with no lift access, complete with leaking roof to distract them from the actual football.

It's no myth Ghost.... it's common sense and the best long term solution.

1) Away fans split up pitchside round the corner flag. Harder to generate stadium wide noise.

2) No diluting of security, segregation, h&s, logistics, coach transport etc.

3) Little risk of dangerous missiles being thrown on to City fans from height.

4) Benefit of away fans being directed to alight the metro at ASDA/ANR directly in to their security zone and away from our fan zone and coach welcome.

5) A dedicated SS2/3 second home end.

6) Offer all relocated City fans first choice of seats in SS1/2/3 (close to the away fans) or in NS2.

Any reasonable 'authority' using common sense & logic should see no risk but several security advantages to a change.

From the clubs perspective this can be achieved with little or no capital expenditure but numerous advantages & benefits.

Finally, many fans have been negatively relocated during our time at the Etihad, others have chosen to relocate including some in the the 'new singing section' several years ago
CONTINUED.....Their physical location in the ground is arguably one of the poorest viewing positions in the stadium and the 'noise' generated doesn't spread and often competes with that of the SS.

IF IF IF their interest is focused on improving the atmosphere (hence the reason for relocating in the first place) their are no valid reasons for not joining in with thousands of other like minded fans but in superior viewing positions.

Lastly, if the Police/Licencing Authority/Club don't see the logic and value of no away fans hurling coins & other injury causing objects from height on to City fans, or away fans being directed to alight the metro at ASDA/ANR thus avoiding the new fan zone & CB coach welcome, they need changing too.

Common sense isn't very common these days !!

There won't be 2 standing home ends, there may or may not be standing in the upper tier, but if there is it will be either the North stand or the South. More likely the North because the entire SS3 wouldn't need relocating.Plus the away fans aren't going anywhere.

Disagree !!

Using Wolves as the best example of fans along the side and close to the pitch, it's the hardest place to generate noise and intensity......ditto Arse & Spuds.

A 'round the corner flag' relocation imo reduces away fans influence and increases City fans influenceand intensity.

Where there's a will there's a way !!

I haven't referenced safe standing in my posts.
