North Stand expansion - seating, ticketing etc

When rail seating was introduced there was a limit of 3,000 so it may not be possible to increase those seats if we have persistent standing. However, rail seats have been shown to be safe so the permitted number may have increased.
Would it be possible to get those who prefer to sit into CB1, CB3, East1 and East2, with those who want to stand and sing in the two ends? Solves some problems but the side stands tend to be more expensive and where does it leave those of us who will happily sit and sing? Also, many fans prefer the view from the side and not just because it has echoes of the Kippax.
Finally a quick question: Does anybody know how far the back of the extended stand will be from the pitch? Are we talking top shelf at Newcastle type distances or "in a different postcode" as seen at West Ham.
Wonderfull views of Werneth Low, the south pennines and the early leavers.....and its live !!

The new North Stand must surely be named after the man who elevated our club to stratospheric heights of Greatness.
The Greatest Premier League Champions in the history of the league (2018)
England's first and only Dom Quad.
England's first Four League titles in a row and 6 titles out of the last 7 seasons.
England's first and only True Treble Winning Champions of the World.
A plethora of records, winning runs and statistical phenomena that may never be bettered in any of our lifetimes.
Somehow "The Richard Dunne End" loses it's appeal somewhat when weighed up against the achievements of the Catalan master!
I'm not hoping... I'm expecting.

I’ve always thought the north stand would eventually be renamed the Sergio Aguero stand with him being our record goal scorer and that being the end where his greatest moment happened.

I like the idea of a Pep Guardiola stand though. Maybe the east stand?

Yep, my sentiments exactly. That end belongs to Sergio. Pep? I'd name the stadium after him.

I agree regards naming the East stand after Pep, however I still maintain the North stand should be called the 93:20 stand.

From the other thread:

Some info from Today’s OSC meeting:

Danny Wilson gave an update on the North Stand expansion

- capacity is increasing by 7k and half the increase in capacity will be extra flexi gold season card holders (around the ground as opposed to just extra season cards in North Stand L2). Anyone transferring to North L2 with a season card will keep it.

- The Club favours flexi golds for new season card holders because their stats show existing season card holders attend, on average, 14 home Prem games a season. No shows remains a big problem.

- There will be at least 3k safe standing. As well as the sky bar and hotel room viewing from the top of the stand, there will be a hospitality section lower in the stand (final positioning not yet firmed up / possible room for debate). There are no plans to make the remaining North West (Colin Bell) and North East blocks that aren’t currently hospitality into hospitality.

- Existing North Stand season card holders will be the main priority to be looked after, before relocations from other parts of the ground commence. It sounded as though communications about this and relocations would be stepped up in the New Year.
