North Stand expansion - seating, ticketing etc

You're a S/T holder as I am.

You must see regulars near that don't attend every game.

I know of 3 from my small group of associates who didn't go on Wednesday, seats remained empty.

Admittedly the fixture calendar and authorities are to blame with stupid mid week games in the middle of winter, but that is another issue.
Season card hoarding equates to artificial demand that probably pushes up season card and match day prices. Tbf City have been trying to address the no show problem. There was also a big effort from many Blues to give Forest tickets away for peanuts or for free.

There was a lot of noise about people being priced out of the Forest game but they needn’t have been. Obviously, travelling distances, work etc means some Blues have to plan their visits days or weeks in advance.

Quite right.

The combined capacities of the Etihad and Co-Op Live will be 85,500 from next year. Yet there is one Metrolink stop servicing one line (<Town:Ashton>), a handful of buses and banned parking within a certain radius of the stadium with no Park+Ride alternative options out in place. And then there’s nothing else. Your legs are your only other option to get anywhere.

Over in Trafford Park, United’s capacity is 74,000 yet they have 5 Metrolink stops close by connected to 5 of the different Metrolink directions (Town, Airport/EDids, Alty, TraffCent and MediaC/Eccles), a railway station, more bus routes, larger road network, water taxis on the canal in either direction from Sale and Town and even a ‘River Cruise’ from Town.

Plus for the night matches you sometimes miss the last train
I live in Cheshire dive and either pay to park (get stuck in carpark)or park some distance away and walk
I’m often not home until nearly midnight
The way the council/Burnham has stopped on street parking and not put adequate public transport in place is disgusting

This is the thing. The possibility of season ticket hoarding or a no show with a flexi is minimal. Not only does the club know if you’re not taking up your seat three weeks before, but even if you take up your seat you can still sell it back to the club up to a week before in the way you would a matchday ticket - no exchange, no 1/19th business, just a refund on what you paid.

We have about 40k season ticket holders of which a mere 600 are on flexis. Flexis are not the reason prices are going up, prices were sadly going up anyway.

Even if the club were not out to maximise matchday revenue, the idea we would escape rises entirely is for the birds, with FFP/PSR pressures and a significant chunk of the ST holding fanbase rolling onto senior discounts each year, or sharing one between family and friends, plus the hoarding that clearly goes on.

It’s entirely possible that in the scheme of things a regular season ticket holder on all the cup schemes loses at least £150 a year on games they cannot attend that don’t sell on the exchange.

That said I agree with the argument the club MUST make new regular STs available and that a freeze on pricing is overdue. But there’s no guarantee that regular STs won’t cost another £150 on top one way or another, unfortunately! It’s not as if we are the rags and we can’t see what they are doing with the money they make - at least our club has been winning and investing in the club, the ground and the area.

The biggest reason for season tkt holders seats being empty for some games - is the ridiculously, unnecessary process of transferring tickets. Used to just be able to say - ere have my seats if you knew you couldn't make it.
Now - login, set them up as whatever, then have to get them to do the same etc. - palaver.
A simple fix like allowing a screenshot would be helpful. But oh no, too easy and the club want their info/data too. Convinced this is a reason for a large number of the "empty seats".

City are working on a simpler way of transferring tickets but the days of transferring screen shots have passed their heyday

It literally takes 30 seconds to set someone up and transfer the ticket, if they are already set up its a 10 second job, the only thing the other person has to do is click download.

I’ve been fined £60 for the team for Wednesday night, plus the £6 ticket fee. I only went from Victoria to the Etihad and thought if swiped on and off correctly.
