I hope they at least set it out like this, so if the law changes in future we can increase the capacity. It would make sense from a revenue point of view for them.
Heard Everton have opted for this for the Bramley Moore stadium to future proof it, in case a change in legislation

The Villa U-turn really shows the commitment Sheikh Mansour is showing with his desire to not only expand the Etihad stadium, but to develop the (wider) Etihad Campus with the Coop Live indoor arena, a hotel, a museum, a 3000 capacity fanzone, retail, leisure, offices, etc. It bodes well for the Collar site and it's future use.

Hopefully, they can do something with the transport also Ehihad Rail to come and sort out the mess that is HS2 so that the stadium and arena can have proper transport
