you clearly don't watch much southamerican football, if you had you would have known that chile don't know how to play for a draw (or hold a lead most of the time).black mamba said:jimharri said:Chile and Ecuador are playing a WC qualifier in Santiago tomorrow night. If the game ends in a draw, both qualify for the finals next summer. Hmm.
I can somehow see it ending up a draw Jim !
(even though Chile swear they'll be playing to win)
But there was an obvious result last night; Uruguay was going to beat Argentina. Argentina always give a helping hand to his little brother, Uruguay, in a time of need and viceversa. They have been doing this ( non aggression pacts, biscotto or like we call it tongo) for ages! and they have even recognized it publicly. Ecuador and Chile don't have a close relationship they have never done this non agression pacts between them.Uruguay expected Chile to win for more than a 2 goal difference, and then beat Argentina for more tha 2 goals difference too so they could qualify directly and send ecuador to playoff, but Chile were phisically destroyed after playing in Barranquilla.
Everybody in southamerica knew Chile was going to win and that Uruguay was going to win too, it was so obvious for us. I even told some people that follow me on twitter to bet on Uruguay to beat Argentina, if they wanted easy money. It was funny to see how european journalist thought
otherwise.
