Not coming in the Top 4 - it's ok!!

There's an awful lot of hysteria going on at the moment regards the Top 4 finish and I wondered if there's anyone else out there who is just not too worried if we don't finish there?

Suppose we didn't finish in the top 4? Pep would inherit the same squad regardless of the league finish and would still be expected to either win the league next season or come very close, otherwise he would be judged as having a mare. So, at worst, we are out of the CL for one season.

Surely we can cope with this?

Also, if Pep has a clause that means he doesn't come, then he's a total whopper but I just don't think that will happen.

I think it means a lot to our owner. I personally don't think it will be a disaster finishing 5/6.

We will qualify however and Pep will arrive regardless of our eventual position.

I think Pep to City is done....no matter if we in CL or not BUT.....top 4 is the least the owners will be expecting...Pep is coming to help us make that next step in CL and I think it would be a big knock if we didnt get that place in the the CL next season....and its also a good selling point for getting new players to sign. Yes, having Pep will help get us the big names but all the big players want to play in the CL. I think its important we end in top 4 at the end of the season.

I'd normally agree but I think the 'Pep factor' really offsets this quite heavily

that's true, perhaps the biggest negative is the financial hole created but i would only be worried if 2 seasons back to back occurred. Also, i think our non-CL revenue is growing to an extent where we can take this particular hit a lot better than we could only 3 or 4 seasons ago.

champs league qualification is a must, we are not at the stage where one season out will not affect us, we need to be qualifying every season

We will only have Pep for 3 years so to lose one year of CL football would not be a great move - mind you we'd probably walk the league!

Would be for most clubs, but I think The Good Sheikh keeps that amount in the ashtray of his Lamborghini for parking down Moston Lane when he picks up his muffins!
