Not saying thank you to courteous motorists

Don't you judge it on how fast your line is moving on the main road? I do. If your line is blocked up ahead and you can see that there is, say, a red light about 100 yards up the main road, then I'd let them out, if they've clearly been waiting for a while. It's no real skin off anyone's nose. However, if the line you're in is moving at anything more than about five miles per hour, then no, I'd carry on going, because that does definitely inconvenience the people behind you. It's circumstances that determine it, surely?

I do something like this but if there’s a red light 100 yards ahead I’d be reluctant to let them out because this would mean that someone who has been queuing with me but behind me wouldn’t get through the red light because of my decision - so my act of kindness would have the adverse effect on the person waiting in my queue.

What happened to flashing your lights to oncoming drivers to make them aware of police with speed cameras? Love doing that. A small victory for the common man.
Not so clever when you, the flasher, gets caught giving the warning but the speedster gets away with it.
Such an incident happened to a cousin some years ago in Cardiff. The police had a second unit specially for just such a event.
My cousin argued that there were 30mph speed warning posts plus road markings, so why shouldn't he also give a "warning about speed limits". No use, 3 points and a fine.

Still happens regularly on the chelford road into Knutsford near the cricket club.
Everyone creeping past it at 29mph lol.
They can't be catching many there.

Was nobody flashing the flasher?!?

What was the fine and points for?
I thought the whole reason for speed cameras was to deter speeding. Isn't warning somebody by flashing your lights doing just that?

One thing always stands out when there’s a thread or discussion about driving.

99% of motorists think that they are good drivers.

99% of motorists think that 99% of other motorists are shit drivers.

I’m no Carol Vorderman but the math don’t add up.

& I would think 99% of people reading your post think it should be Maths not Math.
Or is it just me?

According to the Highway Code:

Only flash your headlights to let other road users know you are there. Do not flash your headlights to convey any other message.
